  1. some of us tried Driving back to Fargo last night, we were comparing who had the most swollen palms from clapping. Since I actually drew blood, I declared myself the winner, lol! Now to rest them up for the TC...
  2. Guessing the reference was to when the Sioux took out WM in St. Paul two years ago.
  3. Glad to hear there'll be Sioux fans in our section! Sect 121, row E for the wife and me.
  4. Tonight, Sioux win 4-3. I worry for a slow start. Since the Sioux are the better team, they still win once they get out of their heads and just play hockey.
  5. ^^ Fargo Play It Again gets them, too, but were sold out last time I went in to get my skates sharpened. They only had some uglyassed maroon ones left at that time.
  6. Spurred a question for me (I agree with you, by the way): I wonder what percentage of college players played juniors prior to being freshmen in 2013, and how that compares to 5 or 10 years ago? I watch a lot of USHL and it seems a vast majority of everyone who makes that league is going to college or MJ after a year or two (or three), and it reflects in the rosters of most schools in our conference, and geographical area. I don't dig into a lot of the east coast rosters before the regionals, to see where those kids come from, so I don't know if location changes things.
  7. Corbin to debut tonight - hope he kills it and they can never afford to send him back down!
  8. 3-2 squeaker tonight before the Sat flood gates and 5-1 for the sweep.
  9. Unless the Sioux come out and play every game like the last 2 Saturday nights. Do that, and no one will want to play them
  10. it's Midco only, right? So you'll need to be in West Fargo. Spitfire, Three Lyons, Bar 9, places like that.
  11. what was the "incident"? We couldn't see it on TV
  12. 6 - 2. The Sioux have developed a taste for scoring
  13. Simonson was in Fargo last Sat and Sunday against the Force. He opened his team's scoring both nights, but honestly I didn't notice him a lot during the middle of games. Cheering for the opposition can certainly do that for you, though. Plus, I watched most of Saturday's game from the glass at one end of the ice, which, while exciting, makes it tougher to pick out the little things that a player is doing.
  14. That's next year's schedule. You're looking ahead too far!
  15. He was on hand Sunday in a suit and tie. Foot still wrapped like Saturday night and still on crutches. I didn't get to speak to him to see how the x-rays came back.
  16. Cakebread hurt his foot in the first period and did not return. Xrays tomorrow, hoping it's not broken
  17. School me on redshirting? I thought his being in uniform and available to play, as well as being rostered (he's listed as a scratch on road games, for instance), that he already couldn't be a redshirt, but I do not claim to know that rule.
  18. Seriously. If Zane can't go, bring in the freshie on Saturday!
  19. Mr. Walters is in for quite the letdown! Sioux win tonight 5-2.
  20. I only posed the question because Fargo just acquired him. Usually if you trade for someone, you try to keep them around a while. You're likely correct about the fire sale, though, and as soon as someone made a decent offer for him, off he went again. He'll be drafted, if he hasn't been already, and could end up about anywhere. New USHL team in Madison WI next season, so there'll be noticeable player movement for the expansion. A Mr. Hockey candidate is also an appetizing pick for a new franchise like them.
  21. Came in to post about Rowe. That's 2 trades for him in about a month. Worrisome? I didn't get to meet the kid while he was here, so I don't have an opinion on personality or character.
  22. Agreed on that stop. That half hour ride back from downtown always kills me, though. I've fallen asleep on more than one occasion - not the best thing to do on the train late at night - so I suggest making sure you and your travel companion(s) grab some coffee for the ride!
  23. Let's be honest here, it was an outdoor game, which is currently a hot event. It drew a lot of people who love hockey and didn't care who won, and a lot of people who just wanted to be part of the event, even though they don't give two licks about hockey.
  24. Depending on where your hotel is, add 8th Street Grill to the list - just make sure they're serving that morning. Also, the breakfast burger at Kieran's, across the street from the TC, is awesome if you get there on the brunch menu.
