Rumor that Cakebread will return to the ice for Fargo this weekend. Not sure what to expect, even if he does, after that long of a layoff. Plus, this being the Force's last weekend this season, I guess we'll have to wait until next fall to get a better look at him. Friday, Omaha brings Tucker Poolman to town to play against his little brother. Saturday Des Moines doesn't bring any Sioux commits.

My wife is on the record for "If we can't win it, anyone but BC," to which I replied, "Gimme BC, just not the goofs!" I guess when it comes to the teams we dislike, there are lines drawn by each of us.

School is very important to Zane. I've had this same worry as you, but, due to him having been on the Force and my wife working in his field of study, we've had a number of conversations with him about school, and I think he really wants that diploma. What these guys said ^^^

I received a thank-you email from Target Center since I bought my tickets online from them (didn't wait for the school section seats) and that had a link to a survey. If you bought tickets online, I'd check your spam folder.

Nope, we didn't get that far into it. Once Blais came up, the subject turned to him being at the tourney and how we hadn't seen him yet, etc. Only talked to the Morellis for about 10 minutes, maybe 15. Did sound like Mason is probably playing another year of USHL before going to UNO, however.

Actually got to talk to Reg at the NCHC between periods, and my wife asked him, essentially, that very question. Reg and his wife both said they'd have liked Mason to go to UND, but Blais got his hooks into him. Basically, it's Archibald, part 2.

Funny story from a Fargo Force game a year or so ago: Watching a game, and a guy from the opposing team flops, getting the call. Now, I never yell anything at the other team. I encourage our team, let the refs have it, but nothing at the other team. So, this was the exception to the rule. I let out a "If you're going to dive like that, you must be a Badger commit!" A gentleman a row or two ahead of me turns and looks at me and starts laughing. End of the game, he puts on his WCHA Officials jacket to leave. I couldn't help myself, I had to ask about the look. He tells me it's the funniest thing he's heard in forever because it's so true

We had the checks at the top of the section, which was dumb since the place had a ton of empty seats. After Friday's game, my wife went to the restroom on the way out, and actually had a female security person come in the restroom and yell, "Hurry up - you have to get out. We're clearing the building." I made sure to mention this when the TC sent me the thank-you email and survey... We were at the Crowne, too. Ha-ha, probably talked to you in the bar waiting for check in? We stay at the Crowne a lot and never have had any problems. Sorry to hear they didn't take good care of you.

On big ice. When they don't get the openings, and get hit, what happens? They finish last in the league. Hopefully, the Sioux will show them the door Friday, and we'll all set up for next weekend's regional.

You'll never make everyone happy - an afternoon start would've meant we didn't go. Kiddo is dragging a little today, but she says it was totally worth it! Got home about 11:00 ourselves.
