  1. Didn't mean to upset the Goofers who monitor this site (ok maybe a little), but when I say they are "average program" now, thats exactly what I mean. Thats not to say its a bad program, its just that it does not rise to the level of a UND or BC program. You may not want to admit it, but its true. And missing the NCAAs when you are in the Weak 6 conference is inexcusable. This years UND team looks exciting--I just can't stop thinking what this team would look like if it didn't lose 5 underclassmen. Repeat.
  2. The Goofers are going to just have to realize they are just an average program. Recruiting has been suspect lately and their coaching is awful. Does anyone know if the new locker room in Maryucci is pink? Its fun knowing that every single Goofer fan, deep down, wishes it had our program! And their Jan Brady chants? Do the Goofers realize they are 1-14 over the last 15 games against in state opponents? They ARE Jan Brady. Lou Nanne has a hard time taking his maroon colored glasses off. The guys over on GPL spend a lot of time monitoring this site--I guess I can't blame them.....
  3. I like the idea of humans being kept out of it for the most part, but I think they should look into it differently the way the RPI is weighted/used. Teams are rewarded for playing a "soft" schedule. Teams like Bowling Green, Michigan Tech, and Minnesota are virtual locks to make the NCAAs this year because of their schedule. (I am not debating the scheduling of these teams). Each of those teams did average to below average when playing the better teams. Then they do fine against the well below average teams. There needs to be much more of an emphasis for wins against top opponents, and I think they should lower the bar for teams that don't count against the RPI even if you get a win. IMHO
  4. What do you think, time to get rid of Pairwise? This year more than most it seems to not really be working. I have had issues with it in the past but this year the Pairwise is off. Thoughts?
  5. Bucky, the Frozen Four is in Detroit for teams like UND; however, for the wannabes from Cupcake U, the Ralph is as close as they're getting this year!
  6. C'mon guys. Don't pick on the players from Cupcake U--they're going to have a hard enough time just getting off the bus without the front of their pants being all wet. They're missing the NCAA's for the second year in a row and this is their Frozen Four! They couldn't hang their "Dodge Classic Championship High School" banner this year because I think East Grand Forks beat them in the championship game. They'll also probably get confused trying to find the Ralph--they're used to Maricrappy-- so Sioux fans, if you find Cupcake U fans in the bathrooms at the rest stops and gas stations along the way, tell them this isn't Maricrappy and point them in the direction of The Ralph!
  7. Undguy. Did you buy a helmet yet? What have you narrowed your choices down too?
  8. There is no helmet that is going to prevent concussions. The M11 is a good helmet and is no more expensive than the other helmets (upper end Bauer, RBK 8). It is advertised and tested to be better at protecting against concussions (not prevent them). If its the same hit with the M11 and a different helmet, the effect is less with the M11. Don't let someone say "he just 10" so any helmet works. Its just as important to provide the protection for the younger kids as the older kids. If your kid is going to start checking, make the investment.
