  1. Tar Heel and Cavalier alumni don't want the B1G or the SEC, so it won't be easy to get them. The SEC wants them too, as well as Oklahoma. Va Tech and NCSU can be prizes too, but if they end up in the SEC, UNC and UVA will be forever second class football teams in the states. If the Big 12 can score FSU and Clemson, that might start a domino effect destroying the ACC. KU and OU are both known to want the B1G, but they have to make sure their State partner finds a good landing spot. The Big 12 is in a serious heap of trouble if either of them go, and OU is unhappy that the Big 12 couldn't agree on Cincy and a 12th team.
  2. It appears no group from Seattle applied, though a group from Tukwila may be working on a later bid. A Toronto/Hamilton bid did not materialize either. Las Vegas and Quebec City seem almost assured of teams. http://www.king5.com/story/sports/2015/07/20/nhl-deadline-passes-with-no-seattle-bids/30440633/
  3. 60s architecture is just detestable. Chester Fritz Auditorium can use a facade makeover too.
  4. Have said the upper Big Sky wouldn't go FBS until the 2018 season. This quote doesn't mean a thing, but in your and others ignorance you seem to think it's the final word. Fullerton didnt want the Montanas to move to the WAC in 2010 or 2011 and they didnt. Thats what he was referring to. Fullerton also said he'd welcome Idaho football. Since when has Idaho said it moving to FCS? Answer: Never. All his talk that he made in Ogden has double meanings, as Weber St etc don't want to hear what's coming down. You and others are just hearing things that fit your motives and assigning them meanings that aren't there.
  5. Keep an open ear on Fullerton this week in Ogden. The NCAA is discussing DI subdivisions now, so he may have to jet away.
  6. LetS go real slow here. First, Akron has a large IPF, one of the largest. http://cdn87.psbin.com/img/mw=300/mh=225/cr=n/d=kdjuj/zde1pygw1jy3ni4t.jpg Second, Akron has a power men's soccer program, as it won a national championship recently. Third, lax is the perfect spring sport to complement soccer, as they require almost the same exact facilities. Baseball has different needs. Fourth, lax can actually make money for Akron U general funds, but not athletic funds. How? As most lax players are out of state, they pay much higher tuition, which is only discounted about 20% for scholarships. Many private schools look at lacrosse as a money making adventure just from the tuition aspect, even at DI. Baseball would have more in state players and a lower squad size. Fifth, Akron wants to rebrand itself Ohio Polytechnic to emphasize it's STEM heritage and differentiate itself from Kent St, Bowling Green, Ohio U, etc. Adding lax would be part of that rebrand, as lax is viewed as having upper crust academic athletes. Sixth, Detroit U, Cleveland St, and Michigan have recently added the sport, so travel wouldn't be nearly as bad as in the recent past. Would think Akron has already given serious thought to adding lax, but in a years time when all the ruckus over budget and baseball cuts are over, PR Rule #1 is to give all bad news at once, and even slip in a few things you want to see changed anyway, as the time is perfect to slip in a few discretionary cuts and make them look like there were absolutely needed. If Akron wanted to drop baseball, but did it separately, a fundraising drive would occur.
  7. http://www.cleveland.com/akron/index.ssf/2015/07/university_of_akron_students_f.html Akron drops baseball. The MAC used to require baseball, but they must have changed that. Will make it easier for MAC schools to start lax or hockey. Akron doesn't have a decent hockey arena, as the city dumped a plan to build an arena, so maybe they start lax. Still looking for Buffalo to start hockey.
  8. Don't forget the Fargo sewage lagoons. NDSU sits right in the epicenter of vibrant fumes, but never a bragging word a but that. It always someone else who farted, not them.
  9. Devils Lake and Jamestown have flights to Denver, rather than Minneapolis, because under provisions of the Federal Essential Air Service, routes to those cities have guaranteed subsidies. No carrier from Minneapolis bid. Grand Forks offered state and city subsidies to United, but as soon as the subsidies ran out, United pulled the plug. When Grand Forks has UAS and fertilizer plant construction traffic pick up, would expect United to jump back in.
  10. http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/shad-khan-wants-to-buy-london-soccer-club-may-move-jags-071015?adbsc=social_20150710_48967846&adbid=10154064333124552&adbpl=fb&adbpr=112638779551 So Tottenham is building a new 61000 seat stadium in London that will have a retractable grass field with field turf underneath, perfect for a stadium sharing a Premiere League team and an NFL team. Shaid Khan, who owns Fulham and the Jacksonville Jaguars, wants to sell Fulham and buy Tottenham. Any way the Jaguars don't become a London based team? The NFL would be all over this in support.
  11. At the world class corporate lab that I interacted with, every body raved about this chemist from ... Dickinson St. Morons like you and others from bisonville would have thrown his resume in the trash, but those PhDs from highly esteemed schools raved about a chemist from Dickinson St. I have a world class education, and so does he, but you and other bisonville posters just nonstop trash us and start believing your own BS smells lovely. A Memorial rebuild needs to be ready by the 2019 season. Count backwards if you can.
  12. You can't distinguish between emotional, social, spiritual, and mental IQ, can you? My family didn't have money and I didn't have the maturity, can't you tell? Having worked with MIT grads, I can say I'm thankful for my UND education, especially among such grounded people. My technical suggestions in chemical engineering have been laughed at sometimes, only to be valiated by Princeton PhDs. This should be taken off board and to PMs anyway. I believe Memorial stadium will have a near total rebuild with REA-type features thanks to a donor or maybe donors.
  13. My biting humor must of hit home. So hilarious about ACT scores. MIT sent me an application because of my ACT score. Suppose they wanted geographical diversity, but you can't get into MIT without a math score of near genius. But to moo u grads we're all just so dumb! Heard that I was grossly retarded at bisonville for years because I'm just too far ahead of slower people like you and bisonville posters. I can actually think seven years ahead and ponder the permutations, while you just project the present into the future without any thought to it.
  14. How come NDSU trolls are not all over this lambasting it?
  15. That was the year the Best Buy ring was in full action with a team loaded with thugs. Soon after many of them were kicked off, and the Fargo crime rate skyrocketed. Coincidence?
  16. Said it before but Red River will be referred to as Red Riders. It distinguishes them from Rough Riders or Riders and it's their school color. If the RRRR name is that precious to you, I'm sure UND will donate $50 k to RRHS from the new royalties to pay for RRHS changing their name to Rough Roosevelts or Rough Rivers or Red Rovers or something, maybe even Sundogs. UND's a state flagship that deserves a state nickname, regardless of who had it first, which was the Dickinson American Legion team. Maybe they will have people here bellyaching too?
  17. Shold have included a ☺ face in my response.
  18. Fullerton knows $ signs when he sees them. It takes $'s to move to FBS. The UND Foundation will have a part to play in this, but that's just a guess on my part.
  19. You and Fullerton are so full of it! There's a post on anygivensaturday.com that says a DI reorganization legislation is coming in August, according to CBS.
  20. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/theres-a-new-silicon-valley-of-drones-and-it-isnt-in-california-2015-06-22 A Herald editorial references this article on the New Silicon Valley for UAS. Looks like Grand Forks and Fargo are both going to benefit big time. This is one industry where UND'S expertise and state support has definitely paid off locally.
  21. Know this is a joke, but UNLV football should be in their sights. A WAC with SUU, Dixie St, Weber St, Utah Valley, Grand Canyon, Idaho St and NAU should have a lot of good rivals.
  22. http://www.ironcountytoday.com/view/full_story/26742193/article-SUU-athletic-programs-shouldn-t-go-anywhere?instance=most_popular1#ixzz3fPD0YyK3 Evidently, rumors are going around that SUU will drop from DI, an account of things their AD said before he left. SUU will not be staying in the top half of the Big Sky by going FBS, but will stay FCS, which is DII in most people's vernacular. Likely their old rival Dixie St will be in their same league in FCS soon, so people are confusing FCS and DII.
  23. Amazon.com, not Google. Costco, Starbucks, and Nordstrom owners also have a few bucks laying around.
  24. The Braves assigned Campbell to Danville, Va, of the Appy League. Being there is six teams in the Appy a relatively short distance from me, and to circle some dates when Danville is in town. http://www.milb.com/schedule/index.jsp?sid=t429
