On Twitter, there are reports that Belmont now wants in the MVC and it will go to 10 or 12 members. If that is true, Belmont would be the 10th, and Murray St and Valpo could be 11th and 12th. NDSU would be out if Belmont is in.
-
On the Racer board, sounds like Murray St will get an invite. A stipulation would be that they upgrade their football stadium.
-
Charter services are not cheap, even if done by UND, but are cost effective for only large groups like football. Moving other squads like bb is cheaper by scheduled airlines.
-
Wichita St flew everywhere except Mo St. Once you get on a plane, the costs mount. NDSU can bus to UNI and Drake, but everywhere else is a flight. In the Slummit, only teams on I29 are bussed.
-
Kennedy sees his main audience as the ND legislature, not ESPN or SI or other parts of the MSM who do not pay his bills. NDSU's Bresciani has never wanted to impress the legislature to begin with, only other Presidents and the media.

Wichita St will have to pay the AAC $2.5 mill to join, which will be deducted from their AAC revenue for the next five years. Wichita St also loses their share of the dance revenue from the MVC. The Shockers were responsible for like for 18 shares, which will steadily decline over the next six, as dance credits only last six years. That payment this year would have been $250k x 18 รท 10. If the MVC doesn't win going forward, they will have no more credits than the Slummit or Horizon in six years.

We're not officially out yet and we haven't paid the Slummit or MVFC entrance fees. We can get out anytime before we have to pay, unless they slipped in some fine print details. SDSU and Boise St got out of their deals with the Big East and Big West and slipped back in the MWC without going anywhere. Boise St gets a whole lot of revenue from the ESPN contract with the MWC to boot, as Boise St telecasts are wanted by ESPN.

Here is a Terre Haute view on MVC candidates. It also says that three or more schools might be accepted. http://www.tribstar.com/sports/local_college_sports/isu_sports/
-
The Big West rejected UC San Diego's bid to join. UCSD would have been the highest ranking school academically in that league. UCSD might have to ask the WAC now to go DI.
-
A Nashville TV source that says the MVC might add more than one, including NDSU. http://www.newschannel5.com/sports/more-conference-realignment-on-the-way-why-belmont-and-others-should-stay-put The schools mentioned are Belmont, N Kentucky, Murray St, Valpo, NDSU and Omaha. If the MVC takes more than one, the Slummit is screwed. The Horizon would have to pick up schools like IUPUI and IPFW, which have always wanted out of the Slummit for the Horizon If the MVC takes only one but the Horizon in turn takes two or more, the Slummit is again screwed. The Slummit is only saved if the MVC and Horizon leagues only take one school each. Faison and Kennedy would be forced back to the Big Sky or work out a deal to realign the WAC. Try http://www.newschannel5.com/sports/

This would not be a good time to say that UND should sponsor a women's synchronized skating varsity team like Miami does, so I'm going to write it.
-
The blowback would have been bad even they halved the budget. No Euros, Icon or Olympic rink, no personal chef meals, no Minnesota budget to blow. It's a wound to a certain militant segment of society and they are out for court revenge right now, the girls be d**ned. This is where the Fighting Sues is revealed.

Should have said a nagging knee injury, that doesn't seem to get better. Heard it from a source in Crookston that knows her parents.
-
That article is an attempt by SI to slash UND football instead.
-
Sydney Boike has left the team because of physical limitations.
-
Any chance that he'd be a grad Transfer? See he's from Sudan. They seem to study hard. Would be a near perfect fit for replacing Drick after a year though.

It seems like Heidi is staking her Senate reelection campaign upon reinstatement of WIH. After all, she had success in her hold up of USA Hockey. A modern day Jesse James is Heidi. She certainly will be an overwhelming favorite among WIH fans. Win by a landslide among that key demographic.
-
Actually agree. The Slummit and MVC should realign by fb and non fb schools. That may end up happening, but only when the dance credits even out in six years. The Omaha/Denver Horizon talk was just hot air designed to scare UND out of a BIG hockey invite.
-
Moorhead was trying to replicate Bemidji. UND was trying to replicate the Gophers, only with more expensive Euros. It's an entirely reasonable number
-
The favorite is probably Valpo, but Ill-Chicago, Murray St, Milwaukee, UMKC and Omaha get mentioned. NDSU might be in there if they pick three. The MVC football and privates might be getting sick of each others antics and might chose to go big, like the old Big East, and then split into fb and bb halves. Wichita St should also announce their FB plans, if any, soon.
-
There isn't one. Creighton didn't have to pay an exit fee, and the Shockers had a fit when the MVC was considering it. But Wichita St won't get their share of the NCAA dance payment anymore, as those leaving early forfeit them. Since Wichita St earned most of them, it's still a pretty big number that the Shockers will lose. But their Final Four run payments almost are over. MVC teams should enjoy the riches now, as there may not be there in the future.
-
According to a report from KAKE in Wichita, the Shockers have officially given notice to the MVC and will be joining the AAC this July 1st. No wonder the MVC has declared an emergency meeting this Sunday.
-
If the MVC just took NMSU and Denver and Omaha, that would wreck two leagues, the Slummit and WAC. Montana schools and Idaho would then get their chance to get in an FBS conference, meaning the WAC. The WAC will barely survive a loss of Chicago St, as GCU only really counts next year. If UMKC went too to the MVC, the WAC would need to attract a Big Sky school.

The MVC is holding an emergency meeting Sunday in St Louis. The Wichita St move appears to be panicking the MVC. http://www.fanragsports.com/news/mvc-to-hold-emergency-meeting-on-sunday-in-saint-louis/

Maybe it's just a veiled threat to UND by Omaha and Denver that if we go to the BIG for hockey, Denver and Omaha aren't staying in the Slummit, which Denver and Omaha can wreck havoc on by leaving.
