  1. Could someone post a highlights video, if they can find one? Would love to see some of those Treys (pun intended).
  2. I think part of the problem with the Minnesota-based tournament was that were 5 teams (UM, UMD, BSU, MSU, and SCSU), so not a convenient 4 team field like the Beanpot.
  3. No. Most FBS conferences have a conference championship game, though.
  4. Yes, I was pretty hyped for the Summit Tourney as well.....until last Saturday.
  5. Someone can correct me if I cam wrong, but I think one of the primary reasons to have a conference tournament (and this would be for any conference in any sport) would be for the purpose of making money for the conference. Technically, you could have a conference tournament (to make money) and choose your AQ by some other method, but that would be a little anti-climatic. I think there may be some leagues that award AQ to regular season champ in some sports and eschew the conference tournament, but don't quote me on that either.
  6. Absolutely it is. Hope not true, though.
  7. We scored more points in the first half on Thursday than we did the entire game yesterday
  8. Wow, big wake up call. Need to LEARN from this one. A month from now and a game like this - season over.
  9. I could see Omaha spoiling a UND party in Sioux Falls if they make the tournament. They'd likely be a #4 seed, and if UND is a #1 seed, to avoid a conference match-up, UND would get sent somewhere else, presumably suburban St. Louis, as the eastern regionals will have plenty of eastern teams close by. That would be the only scenario I see that would keep UND out of Sioux Falls. Otherwise, the #1 seed in Sioux Falls would be a pretty steamed eastern team that would probably have to face a western powerhouse like UND, Wisconsin, or Denver as #2 seed in the regional final. So, assuming playing in Sioux Falls is deemed an advantage for UND (I would say it is), getting Omaha out of the way is a good idea, assuming we remain a #1 seed.
  10. Again, where are the highlights?
  11. Not an intent to derail a BB thread with football talk, but I wonder if UND Football had beaten the Bison just by the skin of its teeth (like the BB team did), maybe that would have left them a little more hungry. BB team absolutely clobbered a team that was only one game behind them in the standings. Would have been nice if the FB team had that kind post-NDSU response at UNI.
  12. Yeah, this seems really puzzling. Had a hell of time finding highlights of the USD game as well.
  13. Ahh, ok. That sort of makes sense, but, ultimately, if the season ended today, I'm assuming SDSU would be the #1 seed in the tournament based on a head-to-head tie breaker? Seems like since this a CONFERENCE standings, you'd list them how they stack in the CONFERENCE.
  14. I see UND is listed on top of the standings, even though their conference record is tied with SDSU, and SDSU won the head-to-head matchup. Does UND own some sort of tie-breaker against SDSU that I am not aware of? I was thinking it could just be alphabetical, but among the teams at 5-4, that doesn't hold true.
  15. Looking for highlights again and couldn’t find any.
  16. So still guaranteed first place after the bye week.
  17. Awesome, thanks! Based on the final score, I surprised that it was still a two possession game with 6 minutes to play. UND did a really nice job closing this one out.
  18. The standings are stacked tight. A couple of losses, and you're in 8th place
  19. Anywhere to get some highlights of the game? Searched on YouTube and they have highlights of every combination of gender and Dakota school available except UND/USD Men.
  20. Yes. I initially thought (and wrote, which I later deleted) Minnesota had to play Michigan in Yost to get the F4 in 2002, but that matchup was actually the F4 semifinal.
  21. In 2002, The Frozen Four was in St. Paul, but their regional was in Ann Arbor. In 2003, Mariucci hosted a regional, but the Frozen Four was in Buffalo.
  22. All I was saying (pointing out, really) is that UND has a great opportunity this year to play in front of their fans at all the important games with very limited travel, especially for a western team, which has been pointed out, and that could/should work to our advantage. No asterisks, just a tremendous opportunity. And I'm super excited to watch it.
  23. Watched Friday's game live, then finally saw the whole Saturday game on the Midco replay Monday night, and this was my thought as well.
  24. It's possible that the playoff road to the title goes through Grand Forks (NCHC quarterfinals), St. Paul (NCHC semifinals and championship), Sioux Falls (NCAA Regionals), and then back to St. Paul (NCAA Frozen Four). That has to be a geographical travel advantage to UND. Plus, at those venues, the crowds would skew heavily towards UND fans. Let's do this.
