I did get a vibe of quiet confidence from him. -
Looked it up: '98 and '99.

I just want to pause for a moment to reflect that we are all here talking about a SECOND playoff game. And signing day is tomorrow, so it's fun to have a present AND a future to be excited about. -

I would also say going on the road and handily beating SUI was a nice feather in the cap. -

I've seen some good flashes on offense the last couple games to make me believe they can pull through if the defense keeps up their spectacular play. Game-tying drive, which required a successful 2-point conversion, showed some moxie that had been missing in other games in similar situations. Getting Z back to sort of resurrect a power run game in the 4th quarter is another example. Getting Deng Deng involved in the passing game has given us an option for moving the chains and getting in the end zone. Scoring 31 (like was done in each of the last two games) can get you a long ways when complimented by a stout defense. Now imagine if our offense actually clicks on all cylinders for a whole game. -

I am assuming there is Monday press conference? Will be interesting to hear what the staff has to say about certain players. -

I would also say that recipe has to include enough (successful) passing so TSU can't load the box. Can't be one dimensional. Get to the 4th quarter with a lead, and then unleash our stable of running backs on their tired defensive line. -

Should have a lot of confidence after what just happened. This is definitely a gettable game. -
I’m assuming you heard this on the Tank and Kelly podcast interview with Ike, because I heard the exact same thing.

Another pick-‘em. I like how that turned out last time. -
Had the same thought. Use him if need him, but save him for 100% next week if you don’t.

Proud day in the history of UND football. Feel great for seniors, especially Ziebarth coming off injury and Romfo stepping in at backup QB. Excited to see what we can do in Texas next week.
-
Bring him to UND next year 🙂

What a game!! Been making deer sausage with my in-laws but had the game on the computer as we were working. Fun to be able to relax and enjoy the end of a game. Tempted to make the trip to Texas next week.

A win today would go such a long ways for the program.
-
I would add, too, that a bracketed playoff system would be a must.
-
Agree with this mostly. I wouldn't say my interest would drop. But I feel at some point, the G6 and certain FCS schools would merge into a level. In addition to the Dakota and Montana schools, put us in the Mountain West / Pac X and divide up into divisions.
-
I guess that's true. Was that simply because the calendar favored a 12 game schedule this year? Most times it's an 11 game season, I thought. It doesn't seem common to play non-conference once conference starts, but if that were a plausible scenario going forward, the hockey/football 2-for-1 weekend would be great for fans.
-
I've long thought this would be a great idea. Several hockey schools in the northeast are FCS: Maine, New Hampshire, Ivies, to name a few. But, is it too late to schedule non-conference football once hockey season starts?

Even with NDSU's new salary budget for coaches and staff?

UND needs to keep up. Match NDSU's salary package for HC, staff, and program resources.

UND Fighting Hawks Versus SDSU Saturday November 22nd
Dustin replied to Und Princess's topic in Football
Maybe we knew all along that our SOS would get us into the playoffs, so we ran questionable/vanilla stuff all season, and now that we're in the postseason with all players available, Ike is about unleash the beast. One can hope, right?! -

Yeah, remember when Hromadka had himself a game? What about Caden Dennis (he's taken some lumps on SS, but he had a good game earlier, too)? And Deng Deng proved very effective last week. Now that Ziebarth is back, maybe we can amp up both the run and passing game. Realistically, good teams should be able to cover 80 yards in 7-10 plays, before you risk something adverse. You can't do that without some chunks. Yeah, our RBs may break into the secondary every once in a while, but ultimately you need a balanced attack, with the 10-20 yard pass plays giving you 1st & 10 as you march down the field. -
A little late to the game here - I've seen this name mentioned a few times. Who is he?
