My huge Bison fan co-worker says that the strength and conditioning of NDSU has allowed them to stay fresh late in games, whereas their opponents are wore down. I hope Baukol is doing the same for UND players. I think that is about as crucial as it gets - who can outlast who.

to me, not winning this game would show a lack of growth in the program - it would be the third year in a row with a big mid-season disappointment. But I hope that the coaches are preparing for every game like it's the last chance they have at saving the season. Need that urgency there every time.

What is the Big Sky football tiebreaker for conference champ when the teams haven't played each other? Thinking ahead if both UND and EWO go 8-0.

Wouldn't mind if you kept it up until I can get to a tv.

It would do wonders for the confidence of the fans, too. I remember last year's Cal Poly game was suppose to be a chess match of offense vs. defense, but we rolled 'em both departments. That was the best game of the season, AFAIC.

http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4125392-area-notebook-hart-leaving-mark-cardinals-record-book I hope she's following in the footsteps of sister McKenzie and coming to play VB for UND. Anybody know her intentions?

This thread is my only access to the game. Is it over? If so, final score?

Lots of talk about the O-line. I think the difference between the line of late last year and early this year can be summed up in two words: Elijah Grady. Our run game would be much more effective with him bowling over defenders. Too bad it didn't work out. And thus can solved in three words:. Next man up.

It would have been more embarrassing to lose the game by trying to tie, than lose trying to win.
-
The biggest accolade the team can do for itself is to win this game with flashes of offense and stifling defense - keep a big crowd excited for the game, and then keep 'em excited for the season. I unfortunately was planning to go, but got called in a different direction, but I should be able to watch on TV.

I had a dream that I was Keaton studsrud and I (as Keaton) scored a fourth quarter touchdown from the goal line to put us up 33-17. And then after the game, I (as Dustin, the fan watching at home) turned to ESPN and saw our game score scroll across the bottom and we win 30-2. So hopefully one of those scores is right!

UND was much better than the last two outings, however, even if they weren't great. UTEP didn't give us any fits, really, though, so how much was coaching adjustments vs opponent's style play may still need to be determined.

Game status update? Not watching or listening, so you guys are my media!

Sad for me that the interlocking ND from the helmets is gone. I had no idea they were going to retire that logo, too. That's a shame to me.

Embarrassing loss. I'm starting to think there's a problem with the coaching. Losing high end players to DII schools (Pioske, Place), ineffective offensive (tipping, soft hits) and defensive strategies (1 player in the back). This team should have been loaded this year, but instead I don't see much promise.

Fun video to watch. Last year, the good was really good, and the bad was really bad, so hopefully this year has no bad!

Setters are fine. Maybe the hitters were just having a bad night - % was 0.1xx for one team and -0.0xx for the other at one point. Dooley was the most dominant. Her strength seems to have improved. Previous heavy hitters Moser and Julia K were not impressive. Amelia Johnson and Ashley Bruggeman may get playing time as freshmen. Baylor transfer Jordan Vail was really out of sync.
-
3rd set was a little more inspired play. Dooley was dominant at times. A few long rallies to keep it entertaining. It be interesting to see what happens when they are put in a game situation. We shall see on Friday night!
-
2nd set more lopsided 25-12. Play not a whole lot better. Dooley tried the cut shot a couple more times, but went wide both times. Merseli and Johnson each had some good contact. Vail can't get her jump timed with the set. And unfortunately, I don't know if Julia K will ever be her former self.
-
First set over 25-21. Unfortunately, I didn't see many flashes of brilliance. Lots of tips, soft spikes, and plenty of miscues. Best thing if the match was a Faith Dooley cut shot from the left side that hit around the 10-ft line. Hoping for more from set 2.

About 10 minutes away from the Green & White scrimmage. I will update best I can.

I still say to myself "I can't believe we actually did it." I guess I had forgotten that a season doesn't have to end with heartbreak.

That's where I was at, too. I was watching with my dad, and told him that I wouldn't be satisfied until the clock was at 0:00. He told me, "you're sick!"

I've watched the first and third periods of the natty game probably a dozen times. I watched the second period a couple times, and that's actually pretty entertaining, too. I was laid up the other night, so I decided to watch the Denver game in its entirety, which I don't think I had done since it was live. I'll have to check out the NE and Mich games on Youtube at some point, as I don't have those on the DVR.
