WBB did not win the Big Sky regular season or postseason. they did play in the WBI, and hosted 2 games in Grand Forks.

The good news is that UND beat Minnesota in one set earlier this season in the same venue, so they've got good "real world" experience. Like siouxvolley said, that pod is extremely strong with volleyball tradition. Anything UND can learn from being there will be a boon for the future.

UND gets Minnesota in Minneapolis Friday at 7 pm.

Add to that - a leader, and tough as nails. What's been UND's record when Keaton plays the primary QB role? Isn't like only 3 losses since Nov. 2014?

Not trying to disprove your point that the football game should take precedence, but I'd have to say 2006 West Regional Hockey would qualify for that title.

I think the committee could have justified UND and SDSU at 7 and 8 in either order. My thought is that they wanted conference opponents to play to eliminate the possibility of one conference having two teams in the semifinals. Realistically right now, the semifinals should have one Big Sky, one MVFC, and the remaining two from the Southland, CAA, Ohio Valley, and Southern.

Attendance was just slightly higher, but the game very much had a tournament atmosphere. Hoping for big crowd tonight with no football, MH on the road, and WH done right before VB starts.

There was no hockey last night, but there is tonight, so it's possible the numbers could be less. We are putting on a first class tournament, though.

Easy solution - go the VB game first, which takes 1.5 hours roughly, and then you've still got plenty of hockey time left after that.

I agree, that I thought the actual number was low compared to the effectiveness of the crowd. It'd be great to pack a couple thousand in there for the championship if we make it. (even if we don't, I guess 2,000 watching a conference championship game would be a good thing)

Just to add to that, most HS teams' VB seasons are over, so no team bus coming to watch a game from a local high school, either.

Some of the area's volleyball fans could have been at the high school state volleyball tournament, which is also this weekend.

Sounds like a nice compromise. Really, how much difference could there be from 17 to 24? Regionalization makes sense after 16.
