  1. The Canucks were cheering for Russia yesterday. I believe it's just an inferiority complex.
  2. The US absolutely dominated the first period...their corsi was elite. Just couldnt finish.
  3. I know, that's why I was thinking Evers is still committed. Who knows I guess. Bast is another huge question mark...this kid has barely played the last two years. As soon as he makes it make there seems to be another long term injury. I wonder what going on there.
  4. I still believe he's committed to UND but haven't heard anything. His development seems to have stalled a bit so no clue what's going on.
  5. His decision wasn't a bad one. He's logged the NHL games. If it were me, I would have stuck around to play another year, that's all I was saying. Schmaltz was a beast last year, but he was playing on a line with Caggs and Boeser. Had the Blackhawks not been so thin, Schmaltz would have been sent down much sooner....he had a very very long leash. I watch a ton of Blackhawks games and while Schmaltz had his moments, he was definitely not ready for the show. He needs an AHL year (or needed another year of college). Saying he had nothing to gain by coming back another year isn't entirely true. He would have continued to develop strength, etc. The competition wouldn't have been as good as the A (obviously) but he still would have gotten better. 46 pts isn't "mastering" college hockey (especially given the linemates he had). Gaudreau hung around for 3 years...he "mastered" college hockey. I get where you are coming from though.
  6. I agree. Although I do really like the NHL's development model by playing a year in the AHL. It's such a good league. However, if you are under the legal age to drink a beer in most cities, I would stick around a play another year of college puck. Unless a player is beyond elite I guess (I am talking about those underagers that are playing in the NHL full time). At least when a player leaves after their junior year they can go out with the boys (whether they are in the NHL or AHL). 20 is so young in the grand scheme of things.
  7. Haha, that's a good one. In all seriousness, Tomek should travel with the team and has clearly shown he can (at the very least) be a backup. Tomek got absolutely peppered by the US and Russia and held his own against very very good talent.
  8. ...and he was very very very close to staying for a third year.
  9. Agreed....other than the Russia game. He's good but been more of a role player. He captains next year's team as well as Team Canada during next's year's WJC.
  10. I see. Wasn't he just noting the disadvantage between NCAA and CHL? If Jost signed after this year the advantage he would have is that he wouldn't have to go to the CHL (i.e Jack Roslovic). If Jost signs after this year there is no way his agent would let him get sent to the CHL. He'd go to the AHL if he doesn't stick in the Show.
  11. No, he'd play in the AHL. If he doesn't stay up....which he most likely won't given he's not ready yet.
  12. Hopefully they start bringing him on road trips
  13. I'll take Russia
  14. Big win for the boys! Cam and the D looked good. Boring game plan but the got the W. That's all that matters.
  15. oh....this feed
  16. I thought tomek held his own ina tough matchup. He'd want that 4th goal back. All in all, he looked solid.
  17. It's going to get out of hand here.
  18. Omg you're too funny
  19. The 4th was weak. Thompsons was a nice goal.
  20. You have to be kidding me? Thompson's goal? the 4th goal was weak.
  21. No way. USA is about to pile on 4-5 more.
  22. I hope he plays well too, either way, he's going to give up quite a few goals. The US team has a lot of fire power and the Slovaks looks terrible last night. I've kind of felt bad for him. He's been an easy target to criticize (by local writers), which has came out of no where (other than local fans wanting to see him play earlier this year). He's also been poked fun at by national writers for not seeing any playing time in the two years at UND. If he does play well I'd like to see him get a few games in at UND before the end of the year. Having two good goalies ready to play is a best case scenario. Also, Cam's statistics won't get him in the Richter conversation this year.
  23. oh boy.....at least he'll see a ton of pucks. Hopefully he plays well.
