  1. Agree 100%. I actually pegged him as a top 6 forward. During the tourney, he was noticeable. As for our freshman, Boeser is going to be legit. However there will be some freshman that won't adjust to the college speed as fast. Hopefully guys like chyzk and Johnson have huge years. I could actually ser someone like T Olson having a productive third line role. Pogo should also have a bigger year.
  2. Dang, I was in the minority however I was curious to see what he would bring in his upper class years. I could always see the offensive upside however he never put it all together in his first two years. As this is his career, I definitely understand why he is leaving. A roster spot was never guaranteed for him.
  3. http://nesn.com/2015/06/bruins-roster-reset-projected-lines-pairings-after-nhl-draft-trades/ Are you sure? Their roster looks a tad thin.
  4. You made a great point on why Sundogs should never be chosen as our nickname. Nobody understands the first time they hear it.
  5. Because I don't repeatedly post my support of the nickname I want I get lumped into the Sundog grouping?
  6. Rally around one nickname? So does that have to be Roughriders? You guys are too funny.
  7. The USPHL is a pay to play league. I compare it to the NA3, I could be slightly off on that though. Oh, Shaw was an over ager...makes sense than. Thanks. I shocked Shaw wouldn't even be worth a 7th rd flyer. Wilkie was an over ager too. There could be a chance that Shaw is smaller than what's listed.
  8. It has something to do with his contract, he is still collecting $. He is retired but can't retire or he would be throwing away a ton of money. I believe there is one more year.
  9. After being shocked that Shaw, Keane, Bast, and Peski didn't get drafted I did some research as far as the league breakdown of players drafted this year. I excluded the CHL leagues, USHL, NCAA and Europe leagues as many players come from those leagues. NAHL - 5 players (one in the third and four in the 7th) USPHL - 1 player (6th) BCHL - 1 (7th) The Canadian junior A leagues typically produce way more draft picks than that, especially the BCHL. I was really shocked by the above totals. I have heard that the NA is growing considerably but it looks as though it will soon pass the BCHL. The USHL is still head and shoulders above the NA and other junior A leagues so I hope many of our commits think hard about playing a year or two in that league prior to coming to campus. It would obviously help their draft stock as well. The fact Shaw didn't get drafted is mind boggling.
  10. Michigan did great in the draft this year (as is typical most years). Red has to make something happen soon.
  11. Congrats to the future und draftees. Very shocked Shaw and bast didn't get picked. Not sure about peski. Maybe these guys re enter and get picked.
  12. No way on the second, maybe 3rd so they can get Hanafin.
  13. Yeah, doubt they're done though. Subban could be dished.
  14. Ok, tough to tell in basketball. It seems after the lotto picks everyone else is a toss up. Guys at ESPN seemed to like the trade. Again, I am no basketball expert ?
  15. I am no basketball expert however i know enough to know he's good, and is a first round talent. What did they give up for him?
  16. Wow, I agree with your entire ranking other than Sundogs. That has to be #7 behind Green Hawks.
  17. http://www.csnbayarea.com/sharks/john-scott-bids-farewell-calls-out-sharks-teammates?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo One word....insane.
  18. Interesting tidbit... UND has 4 incoming recruits that were in the top 10 in USHL PP goal scoring last year.
  19. Haha, he has been falling on everyone's rankings lately....this guy throw him #1. Funny stuff. Either way, I'm pumped we have him coming in. Should be a very fun season.
  20. Really, ok then. Some of you will know more than me. I definitely get the conference but the nickname? The name is retired, so the conference is set in stone.
  21. What? This doesn't make sense whatsoever to me. The hockey team as done just fine without a nickname. The other sports simply need to coach and recruit better. Tyson Jost just named UND and Denver as potential landing spots. Do you think his train of thought is revolving around the nicknames each school has or doesn't have? I don't. I think the nickname is so far down his line of thinking that it wouldn't even be listed in a pro vs con analysis for each school.
  22. Again I don't believe the nickname has anything to do with the success on the field.
  23. No, fs4l had mentioned that we were lagging behind the other Dakota schools because of the fact we had no nickname, my point was that we may be lacking because we weren't winning at the same rate. That has nothing to do with the nickname.
