I’m going to talk out both sides of my mouth here…but I wouldn’t necessarily say that. Hard work and chemistry/culture will get you there. There are question marks though on this teams ceiling. Crossing my fingers
-
Agreed…in very very rare cases. A blue chip commits somewhere with zero other blue chips. Again…this was in reference to folks thinking McKenna will commit here.
-
That’s just a fact.
-
I am not actually. I was saying taking overagers is a strategic way to get back to the tourney. Let’s just hope it works…the kid that just committed had 14 total pts the two years prior in an avg league. We’ve had transfers that have put up pts in softer leagues before. At the very least seems to be a nice two way role player. At the end of the day, I trust Chyz though.
-
It seems as though we’re taking a page out of Mike Hastings recruiting playbook. I don’t entirely disagree with it…we need to get back to the tournament and start building this program back up the way Dean did.

Blue chips play with blue chips. He’s not going to come here.

Du backup goalie?
-
I saw a stat that the NCHC was at the top for portal entries. Basically Big10, HE and obviously the Ivys were at the bottom. Which I don’t expect to change anytime soon.
-
How so? I actually like the Mcmorrow add. Not a high end offensive player but not super old…good two way. Will most likely play 3-4 years. I guess my question is, there is room for 1-2 high end CHL players. The issue is that you have to pay them. Do we have the $? Do they want to play in GF? The CHL overagers other teams are grabbing are not what I would consider “high enders”.

I just heard the same thing
-
I’m hearing those rumors too. One thing I’ve noticed…they’re adding over agers and size. Helps you win games in the short term. Hopefully we pull in a couple high enders too. Fun for the fans to track…but winning is most important I would assume
-
Curious how the new nhl/USA hockey/ushl agreement will impact its competitiveness with the CHL leagues. I know no finer details of the agreement other than funding. But it would seem as though it would lift that league a bit in the intermediate term.

sounds like MTU Gordan is coming here?
-
In summary…he’s trying a bit hard to jumpstart his post playing career career
-
We can. Sandy would come in as a third stringer im assuming.
-
Agreed this one would be a head scratcher. Gibson, Hobie, Sandy? Obvious 3rd stringer. I suppose I’d be fine with that. Local kid.

There always are

It’s easy to say all that, buts those are some of the guys we’ve been getting the past 5-7 years. I’m hoping these guys end up high end college players. But to say these guys are going to be awesome is a bit premature. That’s all I’m saying. Time will tell. Every commit “is that next guy” on this forum…until they have an avg/below avg year
-
I really like zetterberg, ridiculously skilled. Tiny though, so there’s risk.
-
You take him if available. However I could see him playing another year in the dub. 6’3” 190 as an almost 18 year old. Thats a blue chip.
-
I’ve been hinting at it for a couple years. I saw where most of the blue chips were going. Every commit we get is the greatest on this forum…until the following year when they’re written off as underclassmen. Or “look at how good our incoming class is”? Last year was solid but it’s been just above avg for a little while now.
-
I really hope so. And i do really mean that. I like the add from a long term prospective. There’s some things I like (he’s old, bigger kid, scored in a tough league, etc) but there are also question marks (he’s old, uncommitted before?, came out of nowhere, undrafted, etc). I do trust Bryn though.

Seems like an ok get
