They kind of have to be tbh…their mgmt is getting raked over the coals with their offseason moves so far…including the Marchand move itself. They had all the cap and they’ve basically signed a bunch of 4th liners. They needed scoring and have gotten none. Might as well trade pasta for the future.

20-25! I think I’ll take the under Maybe 20 I suppose if he has a really big year. He’d need to be on pp1 and play on a really good ES line the whole year. Jackson Blake was underrated too. He was slight but put up good numbers in the ushl…I had a hunch he’d hit the ground running right away. Not a ton of folks did though.

If they can keep Howard this year they will be absolutely loaded.

That’s what I was thinking. Many folks on this forum were bashing the Michigans, BU’s, etc no more than 4-5 months ago…same folks are excited about 18 year old CHL players. And in full disclosure, I am excited about 18 year old CHL blue chips too…but I understand the risk of being a little too young as well. Interesting balancing act.

I’m still blown away Laurila didn’t go until the 5th. He should have went late second to 3-4. I’d bet top $ he plays in the nhl for at least 7-8 years

His team was good and with cristall and catton there he probably didn’t get any pp1 looks…but judging by his production I would say another year in the dub would serve him well. I’d be fine with hone committing for 26-27 though.

gutted for lindberg, he should have been drafted. Ntdp backfires for some. He’ll go next year. The 07 ntdp squad was down this past year and impacted a lot of them. He should go next year. edit: I just heard that zero defensemen under 6 ft were drafted

With Simpson its overall compete…and defensive awareness. Serious flaws to be honest. He’s a wizard in the ozone and his shot is what I would label as “special” but there are colossal red flags.

Agreed. I mean the full blown blue chips will blue chip…but I also remember folks on this forum bashing Michigan and BU for all their young players. As a reminder, some of these kids coming in will under achieve. College is a different (heavier) game.

It is a decent situation here….but there are other schools that have great facilities, other great recruits (even higher rated recruits), and have other things to offer. Not to play Debbie downer but it isn’t 2008 anymore. Our recruiters have to work They’ve done a solid job so far. Need to keep it going.

I’m thinking Swanson has a good year this season.

Huge year for him! It will be great for his development. Going through the meat grinder the past two years, now will get full reigns on ice time and the top PP.

Need two F’s now. And given both will most likely be young…they’ll have to be pretty good. I’m hoping they don’t bring in Simpson/Schultz. Not because I don’t like them, but more due to them needing more Jr seasoning as offensive producers.
