Well those are the non blue chips folks complain about. If you get a blue chip, anything over a year is awesome, anything over two years is unreal. So to me, you have to assume any blue chip is only here 1-2 years. That happens today.

Honestly I have no idea, I’ve never seen this kid play. Not a 5 star…but the coaches definitely watch all these kids. Maybe he’s a later bloomer that starting to put it together like Pinto was. Again, no idea.

Pinto was a nice late bloomer. Was already starting to pop at u16. Smith is an NHL 4th longer…and that awesome! But you can’t have a full team of Cole smiths. This could be a nice commitment…I haven’t seen the kid play. I have seen spehars kid play a ton so it’s a bit shocking to see this kid behind spehar’s in pts. Nothing against spehar either, he’s really good. He’s just an underager playing up and I never really saw him as a top flight 09. Just a really good one. To be honest, the best player on that team is Jimmy Egan…looks like he chose CC.

And he’s an under ager playing up.

Def not featured as a top 6 but I remember him earning more and more icetime as the tourney progressed. 6 pts in 7 games. I believe he had a goal called back against the Canadians in the semis. Second pp unit if in remembering correctly. Not terrible deployment.

Schultz is really good. But way more mature than many kids his age. Time will tell. I like to wait until 16 to see if they can play when everyone’s mature. But this kid is pretty dang good.

Each year that passes is a longer “data set” I suppose you could say. The regular season track record has been great…our post season track record on the other hand has been dismal to say the least. Really really average for anyone, let alone a program of our caliber. I’m with you, I see the success in winning %, regular season titles, etc. But come playoff time we’re not good. 2016 is starting to become a distant memory (I was there fun times!). A lot has happened since then . Hopefully you don’t owe those meals

Decent post. I really like our coaching group right now. I also understand how challenges in recruiting have changed a bit. But in saying that…boy have we been pretty avg for a while now. Part of it was that we were spoiled with Hak and Blais won a couple Nattys (he also pulled us out of the gutter). What will it take? No idea…Brad is an awesome guy, but I’d guess a few more years like the one we’re seeing now. Hopefully they’re able to turn things around, our current recruiting class for next year is really avg right now from an optics standpoint. They’ll need to dig into that CHL pool here soon.
