  1. In retrospect, they should have taken UND and UNC as affiliates way back when instead of letting them go to the WAC. UMKC does solve the Men's soccer issue for now, because it brings them to 7. Baseball isn't coming back to UND, Pandora's box is staying shut.
  2. So UMKC to Summit.... Where does this leave Augie now?
  3. It is to be expected given a 162 game season. Just hit refresh on the off day and finish the first half strong. No need to panic
  4. I dont know why DePaul, with that basketball hotbed that is Chicago, cannot do any better than the doldrums of the Big East (although they finally had a decent year last year)
  5. https://www.nhregister.com/uconn/article/Calhoun-glad-to-see-UConn-BC-rivalry-renewed-11393263.php Guess not according to this article
  6. I think BC might have a small problem with them.
  7. I never understood what exactly Pryor was thinking with this. I hope that it isn't the primary reason
  8. I hate to take away from the latest yellow stream match but.... Interesting that UCONN is going back to the Big East, be interesting to see what they do with FB
  9. Good. They should make a new one that isn’t so evil.
  10. Do the Wild draft a UND player this weekend?
  11. I'll believe it once I see it in the Sioux Shop (in person or online) I hope it will be better than this
  12. No Fraase? That one really hurts.
  13. I wish the Summit had gone for the death blow of the WAC and found some way to get NMSU on board. Oh well
  14. One could argue (now with the advantage of hindsight), There were 5 warnings signs 1) Idalski not being fired or renewed 2) The Summit Penalty clause 3) The Law firm being hired with Title IX background (this probably was the biggest warning) 4) Kennedy answering both to a question as to whether the athletic cuts would have local or legal blowback 5) The Big Sky saying that if UND cuts any sport that BSC sponsors they will be ineligible for conference tournaments.
  15. What does UND do with that money anyways? (The $1.2 million) honestly curious because I have no idea.
  16. Back to 10 in 2020 Rename it the I-29 conference Would guess travel partners would be UND/NDSU USD/SDSU IPFW/WIU Omaha/UMKC Denver/ORU Or you could go Omaha/DU and UMKC/ORU
  17. I think I remember saying: you don’t hire a firm like that to cut soccer. I think the Summit saying: any sport UND cuts is a penalty of $150,000 per sport was also a big red flag.
  18. I think the other thing that is being hyped about this kid is his defensive ability. Which I love to hear. I do wonder what time of minutes he will get (assuming he will play mainly in the 2 spot, some in the 3 spot) if he plays year 1 (I would think he would, but at the same time if it took him until recently to qualify..) Still have one more scholarship to play with, hope to hear what Sather brings in with this one and hopefully it will be very soon.
  19. I won't disagree with that. Let's see if this is the end of it.
  20. I'm going to put up a slight defense here: I don't think the lawsuit itself was a bad idea (if I was in their shoes, I probably would have gone along with it). But when you file it 15 months after the fact, how far will this really go? Of course now I'm sure the attention will be turned to the interim and new president to pressure them into bringing back the team.
  21. It would be hard to decide which contract extension was better: his or Polanco's
  22. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/2721836-Federal-judge-dismisses-UND-womens-hockey-lawsuit No surprises here.
  23. He definitely is in the conversation to take over for 2nd once Schoop leaves next year (between him and Gordon unless they trade him). I don't think they will trade Schoop to a rebuilding team (because why would they want a guy who is going to leave in 2 months anyways) With Sano… They are going to give him a long leash because they need to decide whether he is going to be part of this future or not. Morris nailed his issue last night, he is sooo fixated on that breaking ball that he is missing pitches that he has killed in the past. With La Tortuga back up, it might be a wise idea to give him a mental reset and hang out with Cruz in the batting cages for a few days. This decision needs to be made because at some point, a roster crunch is coming (at least on the position player side) and decisions are going to be made starting next month.
  24. He left last week
  25. He can't have a worse shot that Seales had from outside.
