  1. If someone wants to drink they're going to drink. Might as well eliminate the cool taboo underage aspect out of it. I did a lot of research on this in college and in theory it should make things safer for young people if its done right like it is in Germany for example. Nobody drives drunk there because its really frowned upon and the penalties are insane.
  2. If they're lucky enough they should draft Patterson and Sylvester or trade the latter pick for two picks (maybe a 2 and a 3) and trade some picks to have three second round picks since there is a ton of value in that round.
  3. Lower the drinking age, problem solved. It's a joke that you can go to college and be considered an 'adult' unless you have a beer in your hand then you're still a minor. Makes too much sense.
  4. In case anyone missed it http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/261956/
  5. It'll be the same timeframe as the blacks from last year
  6. They'll get new pants too
  7. A lot more guys stay than people think. Most of the guys that don't stick around all summer are from the west coast. Those guys need to stay now. With added deapth it'll be a must for guys to stay if they want to start.
  8. Not what I said. He's got the tools to be a big time player. He's clearly a good big athlete. It's just that his throwing motion is pretty raw to say the least. I'm hoping we pick him up and refine his motion. He shows nice arm strength in his video so it's not like he can't throw the ball. With mechanics like that he could end up d2 but with raw talent like that he could end up with the gophers if he has a big senior year. I'm sure he's on the radar of the gophers due to his measurables.
  9. I say bring in a lanky 6'3" goalie from Finland. Problem solved.
  10. As with a lot of Minnesota boys. Luckily they continually miss studs and ndsu sdsu usd and us get to take advantage.
  11. He's got T. rex arms when he throws. The ball isn't even above his head on most throws. Even with a 3/4 motion it's above the head. I've only seen Philip Rivers succeed with a motion like that in the last 15 years. It is possible but not preferable.
  12. I was looking for that. Where did you find it?
  13. If his mechanics don't change I don't see a whole lot of interest from D1 schools coming his way unless they're willing to refine his motion which could take over a year. He does have a D1 frame and arm strength though. Those two attributes alone can go a long way.
  14. Don't forget about Dom Bennett. He'd be a nice addition. Could be the best guard on campus.
  15. Mollberg looked really good. Bartels only incompletion was a drop by Hardin. Even in a spring game with only 10 throws that is impressive. If Bartels can throw a nice ball consistently he could win this job. That's the major advantage that Mollberg has on him right now is that all of his throws are tight and he doesn't float an ducks out there.
  16. We'll see how his all important senior year goes
  17. That kid has a great frame and has awesome foot quickness for a tall guy. Shows some pop on throws down field and nice touch. If we do offer him he'd be a project with how awful his mechanics are. His release point is where a 5'6" qb would be. He needs to extend his arm and flick the ball instead of leaning on it and pushing it down field. If he brings his elbow up his release point would be super high and almost untouchable by defenders and he would be able to throw the ball farther and put more spin on it. Even a 3/4 release would be a vast improvement. I kind of hope he doesn't fix his mechanics going into next fall so we can snatch him up and refine his tools and make him into a stud qb.
  18. Choice. Some position groups are required to stay and it's 'highly encouraged'. Are ndsu players required to?
  19. Yale is irrelevant since they just got hot late and rolled with it. They weren't that great all year long. 17th is not good considering there aren't 100+ d1 hockey teams.
  20. I think it's a good thing that Robertson didn't get much action today. It means that the wr position is at the point where it takes more than talent to get a major role. It will make him work harder and the team better in the long run. He'll keep busting his ass and once he learns the play book he'll be a huge factor.
  21. He looked good and quick and faster than last year. His problem issuing enough guys miss and being able to outrun the last man since he doesn't break tackles. I'd take Shaugabay over him right now though. No question.
  22. Outside mostly. Put the db on an island. He made some really nice moves with the ball from the slot also. Hardin as very limited reps like he should since he has nothing to prove. He did look a step quicker and my explosive though. A little thicker as well.
  23. I just realized I forgot to mention how good Shaugabay looked. Give that man the ball.
  24. So many variables. It could be, mostly because last years offense didn't reach their potential because of the injury to Hanson. If the oline is up to snuff I think I could be. Mostly because of Golladay. He made my jaw drop today and he's only going to get better stronger and faster. If sparks emerges or they feed the beast that Shaugs is they will be very formidable.
  25. I'm kind of pulling for Bartels since he's the underdog but in the end I think it will be Mollberg and his mobility and more consistent and tighter mechanics that will prevail. Either way we are set for the next 4 years at qb which is a luxury.
