  1. I've yet to see a pat down and I sit on the away side. They check purses and thats about it.
  2. There isn't the drop off that there was the last few years. They rotated alot in the second half when they woke up. On saturday they looked pretty above average down the stretch. They need to sustain that level of play for a season to regain the reputation they once had.
  3. Big Snacks has to start at NG. Henson can move to DE. Rotate in Welch and Cheatom on one side and in jumbo packages. If Cummings keeps playing like crap replace him with Carrothers and Woodsmall. Cheatom gets in there a decent amount, he'll get more snaps as the season goes on. Goard and Labatt will play alot more with Goodman going down. Peters needs to step up big time, he sucked last week. Bennett needs to just play like he did last week, he was awesome. Finley anyone? Did he have a tackle last week? Same as Peters, make a play or step aside. I liked the secondary but I'd like more Kuksa.
  4. It's called a hip flask and a coke. Problem solved rookies.
  5. The only thing that makes me want Hakstol to stay for a while longer even though he hasn't won the big one is the talent he has coming in the next few years. If he can't get it done with this next crop it's probably time for a new voice. An example of a well coached up play from last game was the quick snap qb sneak for the first down. For the most part, though, it's hard to point out good coaching moments because like a good oline it's not readily apparent. If an oline is doing terrible then you notice it, just like horrible coaching mistakes. An example of one would be only playing Miller at RB.
  6. The only adjustment they made was Bartels missing on throws WR dropping passes and Bartels fumbling.
  7. There was a nice student section at the SDSU game. They even stayed after halftime which they didn't the past few years. Most of them bailed after Zenner had his long TD.
  8. They didn't rotate at LB last year.
  9. I can hear the Montana DC in the meeting room now.... '84 is scrawny, we're gonna press all day and he won't get off the line of scrimmage.' Please please Montana press our WRs. Especially Hardin and Jackson.
  10. Since we had 409 yards of offense and 31 points and halftime I'm not sure I get what you mean? We only scored 9 points in the second half thanks to turnovers.
  11. I get it. Heagle is awesome. Remember what the point was. DEPTH. They didn't have it at LB last year. They did at safety.
  12. Once again with the ridiculous statements. 50% of the time? Care to back up your stats on that?
  13. That 'bomb' was the right audible. 1 on 1 press coverage on Jameer Jackson. The defense had the box stacked. If you don't take that throw you aren't coached up properly. You go by the matchups you get and they took the best oportunity. If that ball wasn't dropped everyone on here would have raved about Mussmans balls and how smart that call was to catch them off guard. Swirling wind on that day. Less than a yard on one play even against 12 defends should be attainable. He showed balls and got screwed and people call him out. He learned he needs to be more aggressive from the Fresno game. He learned from his mistake. I also thought he should have been more aggressive vs Fresno but at the same time he had Joey Bradley at QB.... If you are referring to last game that TO was called because they had only 10 on the field. That's on the one player for not being aware. It's not like they haven't practiced that play before. I agree with both of these bottom points. They did do a couple screens but it's tough to have a good screen if a team isn't blitzing. Remember SDSU was usually only rushing 4. That means 3 LBs in coverage that could blow up a screen.
  14. The whole first half? Like when we marched down the field and scored first and then were marching down the field again to go up 14-0 until that int? Bartels int and fumble put the d in a bad spot and killed momentum. That's not a Mussman thing. So did you really mean the whole first half?
  15. They had depth a safety. They had nothing beyond the starters at LB. They would have been screwed if one or more of them had gone down.
  16. Games missed by NDSU lbs last year when they had no depth was 0. If they don't get lucky like that they don't win the championship.
  17. Care to elaborate on this bold statement.
  18. Yea.... I was hoping for a Goad Goodman combo.
  19. The students stayed pretty well against sdsu but left after that 4th down td run. When will they learn that they'll miss something better than whatever it is the left to go do when they leave early?
  20. Goren. One of my all time favorite players. Such a beast.
  21. geaux_sioux

    SDSU at UND

Bartels int was more heinous given the situation.
  22. Answer is he played at Kent St. They have an all time winning record of .394 and yet Saban came from that to being a modern Bear Bryant. Mussmans coach at ISU was Jim Walden who was a assistant at Nebraska in 1971 when they 13-0 and national champions. He is apart of the Bob Devaney coaching tree which isn't too shabby.
  23. Goard and Bennett more than held their own. They dominated a bunch of plays. They just don't celebrate as noticeably as Goodman.
