  1. Good for him. Hopefully he can climb the list. I absolutely cannot wait to see his class on the ice.
  2. Even better than that would be if the younger guys earn the spot by not only being a better athlete but by producing better and knowing the scheme just as well or better.
  3. Saban is a good X's and O's guy but he is a great mentality guy. That's what really sets him apart. The SEC is full of talent but his mentality bleeds into his players and the whole program demands absolute perfection. My favorite clip of Saban was from last year I believe and they had the scrubs in against Ol Miss or somebody and they were killing them. One of the player committed a stupid penalty that gave the other team a meaningless 1st down and Saban pulled the guy out of the game and laid into him like I've never seen Saban lay into a guy before. In front of the whole team with the game in hand he exploded over a very unimportant play in that game. It sent a message though. 100% of the time you better do your damn job or else. It reminded me of my old Central coach Mike Berg. He'd do the same thing and man does that send a powerful message.
  4. VandeVelde was one of my favorites at UND. Great player that didn't have alot of hype around him.
  5. New opening drive on Thursday. Get excited everyone.
  6. Kinda have to throw out those stats for the team through these first 3 games. Can't run the ball when you're done big if you want to come back like against SDSU. Schleusner has shown early in games that he wants to try and run but scraps it either because the line isn't getting it done or we get down and have to catch up in a hurry. Hopefully we can manage a more balanced offense against MSU but I won't hold my breath since even though they don't have their top 2 LBs from last year they have a good dline.
  7. Anyone who seriously believes that is an idiot. I understand that some of you are down of the program right now but really? 500 offers? No offense but how dumb are some of you? I also heard UND takes every recruit to McDonalds and shows them the Dave Berry lift station before they go over the list of the 75 other players at the recruits position that they've offered. They then tell the recruit that they'll take anything at this point and if he has any suggestions for who else they can offer. So really 500 is on the low end.
  8. Making the playoffs is easier in hockey and if their season wasn't so long they would not be in the playoffs the way they play early in the season most years. Also the football couldn't make the playoffs during the transition so the point is invalid. And 6-0 in hockey is worse than 55-17 not by much but it is since it's harder to score in hockey.
  9. The 2011 team went 8-3 and won their conference. They just didn't play flashy football and won ugly. Winning isn't enough. Attendance was not good in 2011.
  10. One thing that needs to be noted about the fans. When the hockey team is down big (3-0 or so) do the fans up and leave? He'll no they stay and try and help get the team going. When the football team makes one bad play the grumbling starts. Then if they go down by two scores fans start bailing. The SDSU game was a great example as was the USD game from 2011. This needs to change. Fans have more influence on a football game than any other sport. It's time for the fans to do their part to help the team succeed.
  11. I didn't even noticed he had been banned. It's been kind of nice now that I think about it
  12. Everyone is responsible. The young players for being immature. The strength coaches for not being all over that. The coaches for not making expectations crystal clear before the season for sideline conduct. The older players for not putting an end to it. The captains for the same reason. All it takes is one upperclassman to freak !@#$ on a freshman or whomever and it will end very quickly.
  13. We changed DC from last year. How's that worked out so far? They showed signs of life for the first time since Hendrickson was at LB against SDSU. Kotelnicki is not the issue.
  14. Hazelton is a phenomenal coach and a great guy. He'd probably change the defense to Tampa 2 though... I've always liked running the 3-4.... But if it means alot more wins then why not.
  15. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Connor-Wilkie-145761 Gopher Hole: What schools are you hearing from right now? Connor Wilkie: North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, the Gophers, Northern Iowa and Northern Illinois. Gopher Hole: Any offers yet? Connor Wilkie: No, not yet.
  16. MSU is the vulnerable team out of the top 3. That game is next. We can actually win that one since they don't have their qb and didn't look so hot vs a d2 team.
  17. I bet they were like 'we got a D1 transfer qb coming!' Then he got there and things were probably pretty awkward.
  18. He never once looked like a UND qb to me. Goska was way better and he could hardly throw most of the time. Goska was one hell of a leader though. Between him and Dan that team had great leadership and it showed on the field.
  19. Bradley should never have been brought in in the first place. That right there might have the worst of his decisions.
  20. Lets say he does get fired. Whoever takes over will find a load of young talent( fr rfr and so). I still feel after this season the secondary dline and oline need some juco help.
  21. Brewster had everyone sold until he started coaching based off of his people skills and charisma.
  22. I think they should just let Kuksa go and start and be baptized by fire. Mackey is still nothing but an end zone escort and he's a 5th year senior. Can't wait for he and Hall to be gone. Too bad Reyes hurt his hand in camp and won't get his shirt pulled this year. I'd also like to see Konolowski out there instead of Hall.
  23. Darryl Brown and Kuksa are clearly in a different class when compared to the rest of our DBs.
  24. All I have to say to that is Brewster. I don't care how a coach handles the media. It's not what he was hired to do. Some give a !@#$ about it like Bohl and some don't like Belichik.
