Keaton had a beautiful long throw on the fg drive. Needs to make a better throw tj Seibel in the end zone though. He had his man beat by half a step and Keaton threw to the wrong shoulder.
I didn't realize Weber was such a big school, 26,000 students is a lot for an FCS school. They probably think we're small time, advantage us. Also it will be an 11 am game for them, advantage us again.
From what I saw he's got similar touch and throws a nice tight ball. He's faster and has a stronger arm so let's hope he's got that accuracy that Danny had. Sometimes I forget how automatic he was with nearly every throw.
Why don't you think he's got that kind of upside other than not being a first rounder? He's got good size and seems to have an awesome feel for the game. His last goal was the best play by a UND defenseman that I've seen in years. He may not have extreme upside but I thinks he's still just scratching the surface.
Anyone else notice that our problems have been mostly with WR quitting/transferring/being released? Golladay is the exception since he transferred up a level and left here on good terms. The old adage, the further away from the ball...
There are always a couple players that leave for whatever reason, or retire due to injuries. Last year was the most we'll likely see but only two, (Golladay and Brown) were major losses. Long term it's better for the program because you know the entire roster is committed. Those players will in turn be better at selling recruits that belong. Those that don't will probably be weeded out better than before.
As for JUCOs that all depends on what the coaches think they have left. If they need gap filling experience theyll look for drop downs and then Jucos.
Players quit every year from every program for various reasons. In a way this rough patch after the midpoint of the season is filtering out guys that aren't mentally tough enough and lack perspective. I can understand why Young, if that's who it is, would leave. Who knows why Dev would, maybe his hopes and dreams of college ball came crashing down as it was revealed to be a meat grinder. Who knows. All we can say is next man up. One WR I'm not worried about is Seibel.
