Kids can’t grow up if you don’t let them. As my dad always says, “you won’t learn any younger.” That goes for mental toughness too.

Jal obviously needs to gain a good 40lbs but more than that he needs to gain the ability to create his own shot. He’s so long and bouncy that he could be unguardable in the midrange and eventually stretching out to 3. He was way more raw than I was expecting but I think we all see the potential in him.

Not surprising. The team just wasn’t very entertaining most of the time. I can’t remember ever being less interested in a UND hockey team.

All we did was warm up goalies all year long. It’s no wonder they seemed “hot”. I’d rather our guys make an extra pass or two or, gasp, try and dangle someone to get a higher quality scoring opportunity instead of flipping it to the chest at first daylight.

Yup, fields used to hold a ton of water after a wet winter, especially the wetlands. It’s a tough thing to ask a farmer to not get in the field early in the season though.

I watched the SD final one year, either 09 or 10, and the winning celebrated by going over to and climbing on the glass with their student section and the PA guy was freaking out screaming “GET OFF THE GLASS! GET OFF THE GLASS!” Good times.
