Go and look at where UNI ranked in MVFC football budget 10 years ago vs now and compare to UNDs budget change in that same span and then tell me how it’s apples to apples with bubba and farely.

Which means the 3-4 is a problem here. I don’t care if Bama and the Steelers can run it. We don’t recruit the right body types. Bubba thinks 240 lb DEs can play in a 3-4 and have success. That’s such a joke. 270 minimum. 3 bills plus in the middle is not optional either. That’s the only way to properly run that defense. Smallish DL with smallish LBs? I don’t disagree about during the season. At this point I don’t see how we’d have all that much of a loss at the qb position if they just had Jerry start. Word out of fall camp is he was one hopping too many throws. Sounds familiar… so he could one hop throws and throw picks similar to Simon but maybe make a handful of plays each game that Simon can’t? That one stiff arm play already showed something more than what Simon can do. Easy to say from the armchair of course.

He had a clear path to the job and failed bad in fall camp. They gave him a fair shot and he fumbled the bag. Should he have played more in a few games this year? Absolutely. But he didn’t take care of business on his end and that’s why he’s backing up a guy nobody even had on their radar.

Next year he’s gotta beat out Sulik too btw. Heard they like him a lot.

So MVFC teams so far have hung 14 in their opening 2 drives on us? Seems like the defense is either regressing or facing tougher competition. Not something I’d hang my hat on.

Exposed is what happened to the f’n hawks in Fargo. That’s not gonna happen against the jacks. I’d like it to but it won’t.

I’ve been trying to take the optimistic look at the appearance of the offense early in the year but at this point it’s looking like it’s not an actual rpo or Simon just can’t read it at all. Idk. There have been a bunch of times where he could have scooted outside for big yards. There’s no reason for the defense to respect his legs on those plays currently.

Also, at a glance today it appears we have one of the worst defenses in the conference.

Why’s that? Is it because our WRs are able to get open against good DBs? Surely this hasn’t been the case for 90% of our WRs under bubba.
