We don’t have the talent though. So what are we talking about here. They haven’t changed their recruiting strategy ever. Same approach, same results. Again and again. Small front 7, can’t stop the run. Can’t recruit DBs even though the HC used to coach DBs. Non explosive WRs. It’s a recipe for….. 7-5 every year and can’t win on the road or in the playoffs.

We haven’t had any success in 10 years. Your suggestion is that we can’t afford to change?

We lose one class and some players leave. No big deal. We suck for one year but the guys that stay are the ride or die types and the culture is strengthened through that. There is not a player on the roster or verbally committed that the program can’t handle to lose. If that’s what’s best for the program even though it’s a tough pill to swallow it just is what it is. It took 2 season to fix shambles and be playoff caliber. And we are in a much better spot currently. I’m not worried about losing anyone.

People get worried about guys hitting the portal. Just think of it like a forest fire. The ground is more fertile afterward and allows for better growth to follow.

You think bubba would’ve really given meaningful answers?

When they passed on DeBoer because of good ol boy connections and a strong recommendation from a hockey coach who never hung a green banner.

No it will not. Bubba took the Muss mess and had a very good team in year 2. Seeded in the playoffs year 3.

I’ve often offered up the 2015 team as our best. Those last three games with Clive were insane. We had a defense and a very explosive offense.

True to form would be blow ISUb out, lose to SDSU, beat USD then piss it down our leg against ISUr.

Maybe it’s simpler to just list the years that didn’t included an absolute epic collapse. 2014 had no expectations so that wasn’t a failure. I’ll get back to you on the rest…

The entire 2017 season

Watch Belquist’s route. He doesn’t run it like it’s a pass play until he’s sees it’s been blown up. This is why I was so critical of that shotgun formation against UNI. That got blown up too but their guys hit Q simultaneously and bounced off. Plus Simon was actually playing well and looked in control and they took him off the field so of course they pinned their ears back with no threat of a pass other than to 1 rb and 1 wr. If anything have both Q and Simon in the backfield. Now the defense would have to think more. I just think it was an overall bad concept and I hope they burn that page of the playbook.

The agility and tackling in space was a nightmare last game. Especially that TD run before half. An absolute clinic on taking bad angles.

Simon was 19-24 with bad drops and they took him off the field for the biggest play of the year on the road outside and at night and had a te throw his first pass of the year after blocking all game. Am I missing anything?

I don’t even want to watch this team in the playoffs. They’re embarrassing.

The regression of the defense from game 1 to now is startling. It took UNI being awful on offense to make them look competent. It’s a joke of a unit.
