Any response on this? It's still coming up as an error when I click register.....

It was pretty heavy sarcasm. There aren't all district teams in college either.

UND gets paid for their tv contract, ndsu loses money on theirs. UND games, other than hockey, are still being picked up by FCS and broadcast nationally. Ndsu is broadcasted in North Dakota and small portions of western Minnesota and northern South Dakota. As has been said multiple times, Faison was just one vote out of 8 on the CBS deal and he was the only person to vote against it. Is the CBS deal awful? Yes, but UND has little to no control over that.

That's what UND is missing with the losses of Lennon and Sweeney. We need Muss and Hammer to grow mustaches.

Haha nice

Ok I wasn't sure if they were at a different level than Manitoba or not. Thanks

Yes, there were a number of people who complained about Chay.

Anybody know what we can expect out of the Canadian universities? Are they AHA level? Better? Worse?

I don't really get all the hate for Mattson either. The only complaint I remember having about him last week was he sat back on a puck that he should've played (wasn't even close) and allowed Vermont a 2 on 1 against him. Some people on here are really protective of Ladue. He's a freshman so I know he'll make some mistakes, but I thought at least one of the goals was on him this past weekend. Then when I looked at the game thread, people on here were blaming Mattson for it.

Simpson and Schmaltz are for sure playing. I'd put in Stecher and Ausmus for both nights. I'd also give Mattson and Panz another shot to prove their worth on Friday. If they both stink, Ladue and Thompson get Saturday. I thought Ladue looked better this past Saturday, but he was awful on Friday. Hopefully he becomes the player everybody seems to think he can be. Note: These are not defensive pairings, just who I think should be dressing.

I thought we'd be 3-3 with the potential to go 8-3, more likely 7-4. Now I'm expecting 3-8 and hoping that's enough for Faison to take notice.

Welcome to the board. I don't know if your games last week were similar, but if this weekend's games are called by the refs anything like our games against Vermont, then these ones will most certainly be decided on special teams.

He actually came from the wrong side of the river!! Haha, but yes, Brekke has earned his minutes and has proven over the course of his time at UND that he is a capable inside man. Now, have some people gotten athletic scholarships at UND due to their family? I'd say yes. I'd prefer not to name them on here but I can think of 2 in the last decade for sure, 1 in football and 1 in WBB. However, Brekke has earned his $.

I found this one interesting. However, I'm guessing UND FB FAN didn't foresee blowout losses against the Montanas and EWU.

Anyone know what Miami (OH) and Western Michigan do? They both have football, hockey, and no women's hockey. Feel they're somewhat comparable to us since they're low-level FBS schools, unlike the Michigans. Penn St actually added a Women's team too. So we just need the Michigans to get their acts together.

Unless Freeman sh*ts the bed the rest of the season. Although if that happens, I expect the Vikings to try out the draft again next summer for their next qb.

If I remember correctly, I believe the total coaches' salaries for women's sports have to be within a certain percentage of the total for the coaches of the men's sports. If that's the case, I wouldn't mind taking the women's hockey budget and throwing all of it towards volleyball (to keep it going on it's path upward) and women's basketball (to get it back to where it was in the mid/late 90s).
-
Revenue that could legitimately be attributed directly to the women's hockey team wouldn't even pay the head coach's salary, much less cover the assistant coaches' salaries, athletic scholarships, and travel. The University does a lot of accounting gimmicks to reduce the costs and increase the revenues associated with the program. I doubt they see any of the expenses for athletic department overhead, but they receive a large share of money from the student fees and other revenue sources (merchandise, concessions, donations, etc.). Also, outside the books of the university, the Ralph operates on a loss for the Women's hockey team, but makes up for it with revenue from the Men's games.

Agreed. Hak recruited skaters instead of giant pylons...... who were garbage.
-
No more defensive Finleys.... I mean pylons.

I'll take a Mike Tolbert in UND's backfield any day.
-
And at worse, a loss to an NAIA team who outplayed us and multiple lopsided losses against anybody remotely good and Idaho.
