I'll eat at Qdoba on Monday in anticipation.

Ndsu giving out double the $$ in tuition waivers compared to UND is a fact. Why are you trying to change the subject?
-
Sounds like they'd all beat UND by 2 scores.

I feel like our offense is showing real signs of future potential with Bartels at the helm. The defense is still pretty awful, though perhaps better than last year. Regardless, 28-22 Davis

I only have 2 issues with your post. 1. I don't believe we are mediocre right now. I wish we were good enough to be mediocre, but mediocre teams don't get blown out at home multiple times in 1 season. 2. The decline wasn't that slow. We lost to Sioux Falls in Muss's 2nd year, after going 10-2 in Lennon's final season.

Well Frattin ended up on top anyways. The goon clearly can't throw punches and stand on skates at the same time.
-
LOL that goon picks a fight with Frats and then gets owned!

Should've blurred out the empty seats more.....

Good catch. I didn't see it at first but now that you mention it this appears very likely.

Curious about Title 9 stuff. If we increase overall football coaching salaries by $150,000, do we need to increase salaries in some of the women's sports too?

1. I hope Faison has already sent out several "feelers" to determine who would be interested and what it's going to take to get them here. 2. New staff should evaluate the offers made by the current staff and push forward with the ones they like. The new staff should probably already have many of their own connections from their previous job(s) too. 3. I hope Faison is willing to spend what it takes to win (which is more than they're spending now) unless the plan is to disband football, which would be a huge negative for his resume and legacy. 4. No. I wouldn't be overly disappointed if a couple were willing and able to stick around as position coaches, but if one of them is promoted to the HC position the program will be a perennial cellar dweller in the BSC for many years to come.

Rodwell and Mitch Mac graduate. I expect Grimaldi to leave early and at least one other to leave due to playing time (neither Chyzyk nor Murphy leaving would surprise me, which is unfortunate because I like Chyzyk and I think Murphy has potential). I expect 1 of those 5 recruits to bolt for CHL (Gersich wouldn't surprise me since he's playing for the US NTDP) or stay another year in USHL (Voltin). That puts us at even.... and if Grimaldi and everybody else does decide to stick around then it sounds like there will be a lot of competition for ice time, which can only make the team better.

If necessary, available revenue will magically appear in a previously forgotten fund and UND will be fine. At this point UND doesn't have too much to worry about regarding the athletic budget. If UND was actually worried about revenue they wouldn't have turned down 3,000 fans trying to get seats for the MBB game against ndsu.
-
I feel like every athletic team at UND needed to buy new uniforms and equipment last year for some reason too......

It doesn't really make sense for UND to keep baseball in the WAC if affiliate status is offered by the Slummit. Perhaps a promise that Dufus will never contact UND himself would encourage Kelley to allow the move. At this point, I prefer the BSC over the summit. Circumstances may change my opinion in the future, but I think it's a good fit and has great potential right now.

Yeah it was kind of tongue in cheek. I know my family will be there.

Is anyone going to the game on Saturday??

None of our current players have exposed themselves at the mall yet......

First off, I think we've had a couple great teams under Hak and many other good ones, so I'm not on the Fire Hak bandwagon yet (though I'm far from a Hak fan)..... but I do wish he would make adjustments so his coaching and the style of play fits the players he has. One thing we always hear about Hak and the UND coaching staff is they operate like it's a professional hockey program and that is something several of the recruits have openly said they liked about the program. Perhaps it's a good thing and I'm wrong, but maybe Hak should encourage the players to have more fun on the ice and get back to the GAME of hockey, rather than forcing them into a rigid, structured system that allows for minimal creativity. Having fun is supposed to be one of the good things about college that the pros miss. Just one uninformed fan's thoughts. Regardless, I'm sure we'll go on our typical post-christmas charge, most who are currently ragging on him will praise Hak's ability to put together the right lines with the right chemistry, and we'll make a second round exit from the NCAA tourney. It's like clockwork.
