Washington Post: North Dakota nice to North Dakota mean
UNDBIZ replied to jimdahl's topic in UND Nickname
http://www.grandforksherald.com/opinion/op-ed-columns/3908156-erich-longie-sioux-wish-unds-kelley-well-retirement Longie just can't let things sit. Hopefully he doesn't point out that he has multiple degrees from UND in future letters to the editor. -
A lot of people say they hate their boss, and yet they aspire to be the boss.
-
I really hope this is just a disinformation campaign by our coaching staff to keep other schools off a qb we're after.
-
Meh. Moo u by 17+.

Down 3 going into the 4th.
-
Must be, King ranch says so.

SUU lost to SHSU of the Southland Conference.

Bismarck is also at $1.99. Anyone know, does the refinery in Mandan produce gasoline or pretty much just diesel and other byproducts?

SFI: oskie Reply Nothing concrete. A few freshman getting jittery at Xmas break after their first semester is over is all we have gathered. Pretty much happens every winter. Confident it will calm down over break.
-
And a portion of UND's expenses are likely offshored on the REA.

I'm going to move all the defections talk into its own thread. Carry on with it there.

It's a different awful font, actually, but you're right, it is a poor design. Agree on the second sweatshirt. Ditch the hockey stick and puck and it's even better.
-
They need them tonight.

I really wish they would drop "fighting" from the name. Some Sioux merchandise just said Sioux rather than Fighting Sioux. Hopefully the same is done with Hawks.
-
I don't mean this to be disparaging, but when did he join the team? He's listed as a freshman on the roster, but SFI doesn't have him listed as a 2014 or 2015 commit....?
-
As long as the playoff selection committee knows who we are before they make they're picks.....

My grandparents, parents, and several extended family members are all season ticket holders for fball, m&w bball, and hockey. Most of them are alumni as well. None cared enough about the nickname to vote. They all liked the Sioux nickname, but their lack of voting in the process was out of disinterest rather than spite. When I talked to them about it, all said they were ready for a new name and most preferred Roughriders to Hawks and Nodaks, but apparently it wasn't important enough for them to open an email, click a link, click a name, and click submit.

Any chance Zack Williams is qualified for UND now after spending a year with the BisonS?
-
We do have Pinke so far. Missed on Alo and Lund to ndsu and Weeks to Wyoming. Looks like we may get Bolinske as a PWO and I'd guess there are a few others out there as well.

6 forwards are college (2 more are on the US under-18 team), most of the defensemen are college, and all of the goalies are CHL.

So we're now at 16 verbal commits. SFI and others on this site have guesstimated 20-22 scholarship recruits this year. So far we have the following: RB – 1 (Secrest)WR – 1 (Toivonen)TE – 2 (Pinke, Cloyd)OL – 3 (Mortel, Helgren, Tobin)OLB – 3 (Geier, Turner, Haas)CB – 2 (Holm, Chinn)Safety – 2 (Canady, Ryan)ILB – 2 (Hunt, Murray - JUCO) So with 4-6 scholarships left, where do you guys see those getting used? In order of need, I'd say 1 QB, 1 OL, 1 Safety, 1 DL (nose), 1 ILB, 1 CB. The talk of not bringing in a scholarship QB makes NO sense to me. With injuries and defections always a potential issue, I wouldn't mind seeing 1 scholarship (at least a partial) QB brought in every year. Not all of them are going to prove themselves capable after a couple years in the program, but HS QBs are typically some of the best athletes on their teams, which means they can likely be moved to another position of need if things don't pan out. Also, bring in 1 walk-on QB, 1+ OL, 1+ DL, 1+ LB, and 1 WR.

Miller is saying they are both projected at LB. I agree one or both may be better suited for safety though.
