  2. I'm talking all ticket sales and the overall athletics budget. If REA can make money by having more open weekends, and thus not have to charge the university $2 million per year, that may be another reason (among a long list of reasons) to drop WIH. Kennedy said he met with REA and the Alerus to review the contracts and discuss ways to reduce cost and/or increase revenue to UND. I have no proof, but I would put forward a theory that REA told him how they could make more money (and thus charge UND less).
  3. Paying REA $2 million per year on top of REA taking a large cut of ticket sales is an athletic budget issue.
  4. Those are my seats, so no!
  5. I have no idea how they're going to cram it all into so few pages.
  6. Think of the energy cost savings though!
  7. I still think Kawaguchi can be a Duncan-type player (obviously won't have Toews and Oshie on his line, though).
  8. Feel free to rip/support Heitkamp's stance on this particular issue. Other political discussion, including comments about Heitkamp's political motivations here, should be avoided. - Moderators.

  14. Or Denver.... Weird, the 3 schools with the most NCAA MIH championships all don't have WIH.
  15. In addition to its cut of ticket sales, I believe UND has had to pay REA around $2 million per year. With more open weekends, REA will be able to reduce costs and/or be free to book actual revenue generating events.
  16. Cutting women's hockey may have been about reducing REA's $2 million per year deficit nearly as much as it was about removing the WIH $2 million per year deficit....
