I assume they use a non-state-owned bank. Bank of North Dakota has over $7 billion in assets, but I guess I don't sympathize with private banks being unable to profit off the taxpayers. Partnering with the Bank of North Dakota also allows the smaller private banks in the state to take on loans/projects that would otherwise go to big out-of-state banks.- 485 replies

UND has accounts with the Bank of North Dakota, but its money is separate from the rest of the state money. They aren't even on the same accounting system.- 485 replies

As bad as it may have been in Grand Forks, Bismarck is 10X worse. So count your lucky stars GF residents.

Please go on about how they got permission from the Illini tribe though.....

Agreed. Though it wouldn't bother me if everyone had to take a class to learn not to say "I seen."

Please link the press release where UND said it won't be serving students on campus in the future. Most of the buildings being torn down are dumpy old apartments. As for the academic buildings, it's likely cheaper to build new than to refurbish several of them. Also, the campus added 325,000 square feet with the new med school and opened up a lot of space in the old med school for consolidating several older buildings.
