  1. Sounds like they switched to the Hornbacher's bread in Grand Forks. The Fargo location has always used it. It's not as soft as the Hugo's bread and overpowers the rest of the sandwich a bit more. Still good, just not as good.
  2. Spirit Lake voted overwhelmingly to allow the name. Standing Rock refused to have a vote.
  3. Although I'm part of the "move on" crowd, the Sioux nickname and logo were not racially offensive.
  4. You literally get to vote on it.
  5. Could've sworn I read the idea came up during a gameday committee meeting and the student gov't decided to run with it. But really, it was brought up here years ago (there were people speculating on a mascot before we even had a new nickname) and it's not like it's some crazy new idea in college athletics. I guess I don't see why who initially proposed it matters, as long as the student gov't embraced the idea without being told they had to (the past few student gov't presidents haven't really been shy about ripping the administration, so I doubt that's the case here).

  7. Fair, but Fighting Hawks just sounds stupid.
  8. Can we get over adding the word "Fighting" to every potential name? It's just a weak attempt to hold onto something that's gone. Both Hawks and Scouts sound better without it. Just my opinion.
  9. Yeah, he obviously felt it was time for him to move on though, as his name was coming up for just about every open HC position in the midwest. Maybe Jones will hire an assistant from Minnesota to expand the recruiting footprint beyond Iowa.
  10. Abdominal Snowmen, duh.
  11. $1 million + to sue the NCAA: No complaints. $35,000 to have what nearly every other college has: What a waste of money!!!
  12. The $50,000 is a one time payment. That's a bonus, not a raise.
  13. "Klieman’s base salary of $300,000 did not change" So he didn't get a huge raise?!
  14. Outdated info. Look at the first comment on that sfi post.
  15. What was his base salary before?
  16. And many of those aren't on campus.
  17. The buildings all require significant investment, as they are falling apart and largely non-compliant with code and/or ADA law. On-campus enrollment is basically nonexistent.
  18. No idea, but we're never going to have ASU's economies of scale.
  19. One big risk to UND with the online expansion is the potential for the state to stop paying UND for online credits. There is little/no benefit to the state to subsidize the online education of someone in CA who never sets foot in ND. UND will eventually need to charge enough to cover all costs.
