    FCS Playoffs

At kickoff, every home team is leading in the FCS playoffs. It’s up to UND to change that. Go Hawks!
  2. ^^^this^^^ The playoffs have good teams (or at least that is the rumor). Until UND gets a top seed, say top 4, they will be traveling for almost all playoff games.
  3. This is rich- coming from a poster with more typos or poor spelling than most… For example “taught” for “thought”. Or even “your” for “you’re” in this post. And what makes you think this is a Wildcat fan? edit: thumbs up for the “you are” correction.

    FCS Playoffs

So, 70% higher than $75,000 is $125,000 for a first round bid.

    Polls

How the he!! can a team that is 5 - 2 in the MVFC and 7 - 3 overall with an FBS loss (yes, I know it’s Nebraska, but come on - they are B1G) be ranked 23? Not to mention, having one of the toughest schedules is FCS! iirc, someone (maybe it was Sica) said that the coach’s poll is the one used by the committee to set the playoff field. If UND is 23 before the NDSU game, the Hawks must win to make the playoffs. It doesn’t seem to matter that UND will be 7 - 4 in the toughest conference in FCS. The only solution is to WIN and be 8 - 3.
  6. Didn’t the Hawks do pretty much the same thing. —- in the 1st half

And the Montana AD will just go along with that? To avoid SDSU and Sacramento?
  8. I have a question or two, because I am just a dumb fan who only played football as far as high school and did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night… UND is in its 15th year as an FCS football program. Why, at the beginning of this season were predictions by those in the know on this board topping out at getting to the playoffs? There were many whose ‘hope’ was to win a playoff game and even a few who targeted a national championship game appearance. But the overwhelming expectation was that UND would finish the season at 7-4 and make the playoffs or 6-5 and miss the playoffs. And now, halfway through the season, that appears to be a very accurate prediction. I am going to expose my old age, but why isn’t UND expected to win conference championships and make deep runs in and through the playoffs, as it was during NCC and DII days? After all, the powers in the MVFC and FCS, NDSU and SDSU (which was not considered a football power then) were members of the NCC when UND’s teams were expected to be in the title conversations every year and not expected to finish barely over .500?
  9. That’s what you can do when you trust your defense..
  10. Wow, talk about “fly over states”
  11. Simple thought… the offense just needs to score more points that the defense allows

    Homecoming

The defensive stop and missed field goal turning into UND points actually was a huge momentum swing for UND.
  13. Understood. You have more insights on campus than most. Thanks
  14. 2 body bag games to shore up EWU’s football budget? Sure hope that is not Chaves’ recipe for UND.
  15. Getting a coordinator from NDSU should be seriously considered. As Dustin said… they know how to get it done.
  16. One that Faison and the GOBC let get away!
  17. Thank you. That is my point. All these teams pulled a successful coach from a lower division and are seeing improvement in their programs. I am not familiar enough with other FCS programs to know which ones have pulled DII or NAIA coaches, but am confident it had been done as successfully as these FBS programs have been in recruiting G5 coaches. But it is a moot point as long as Bubba wants to remain the head coach.
  18. Bubba will be here until he decides it’s time to retire
  19. Oh, and I forgot the most obvious one… WASHINGTON! and it is actually working out for Minnesota
  20. fyp
  21. It’s working at Kansas …. And (maybe) Arizona… and neither of them are football first schools
  22. Arizona is a different team this year. They will win more than a few games. but oh, my…Kansas!!!
  23. UND must have a big lead (at least 2 scores, if not more) after the 3rd quarter, or history will repeat itself. At a mile and a half above sea level, the Hawks will be gassed in the 4th. NAU 31 UND 21
  24. lakes, is that you?
  25. 9 years ago (yeah, ancient history) Kalen DeBoer would have come here for what Bubba got. Oh yeah, that’s right, he would be gone to U Washington or some other FBS school and UND would have had to find another coach by now. Maybe UND needs to find someone who wants to move up through building a championship program, not someone who is coming back home as his last gig before retirement. After all, NDSU has gone through 3 coaches while Bubba has been here and have continued their success through all of them.
