  1. The minimums are usually added in case you don't the right quality candidates. Clearly should not be a problem in this case.
  2. the other question about this guy... the same thing everyone is saying about how Bollinger is a UND guy - his dad was the IUP head coach for many years.
  3. c'mon Oxbow, lighten up. You got your way, as did most of us on this board. didn't you see the ?
  4. wouldn't it be nice to find a coach who could inspire his players like this: "We'd run through a brick wall for him. He has that look in his eye that you can tell that when he talks to you he really does care. I gave him a hug after the game, and I don't know if he'd want me saying this, but I saw his eyes water up. It's awesome when you play with someone who has that same passion." yes, i know Orgeron is not a possibility, but gotta promote the passion. Go SIOUX!
  5. but it was the highest total attendance since 2007.
  6. what is Bollinger's recruiting territory for Pitt? How has he done recruiting-wise?
  7. He is a UND guy??? How many downs did he play for the Sioux? Not against the idea, but he is a UWisco guy, isn't he?
  8. So Tracy Claeys, Barney Cotton, Dave Aranda or someone like them is more to your liking? This may be how Faison in thinking, as well.
  9. to get a top quality HC, Faison will have to open up the checkbook - probably with a combination of base, performance, attendance, scholastic, etc incentives. All these FBS coordinators will command a higher pay than Coach Mussman and his staff did. UND will have to step up to get top talent.
  10. UND has more games on CBSSN than Denver, Duluth and Omaha combined?
  11. from anygivensaturday.com by WeAreNorthDakota sounds like a Brooks Bollinger resume...
  12. agree that it probably will not be someone being discussed on this thread. when a decision is made will more than likely have to depend on where the candidates came from - FCS regular season is not over until next weekend, playoffs even longer, FBS goes into December and then bowl games, DII and DII candidates will depend on their team's run into the playoffs. really don't expect a decision until at least the middle of December IMHO
  13. if you are gong down that road, how about Tracy Claeys if Jerry Kill returns as the HC at UMtc
  14. enjoying the debate and the illusion that this board can have any impact on Faison's pool of candidates or decision
  15. Before this season: so now he has a 65-10 overall record (.867). They were 8-2 this year. a DOWN year!
  16. first time in five years. has he been HC for 6 years? St Thomas was 7-3 the year he took over after 2-8 the previous year. Tommies were 8-2 and ranked 16th but passed over by selection committee. like his credentials, but Faison has stated the search will be nationwide. should get a great pool to pick from. if Caruso, Bollinger, Claeys or whomever is selected, just cheering for him to be as successful as Hardee.
  17. it will be very interesting to hear who throws their hat in the ring...
  18. I was totally on the Nielson bandwagon last year, but UND missed that boat. Do not think he will leave WIU this soon. At this point, it seems that Caruso's coaching style and personal accountability is a better direction to go to turn the football program around from the low point where it is current floundering. Several people have given good arguments for others, but D-I experience does not speak as fluently as a history as a head coach of taking a 2 - 8 program to the national playoffs in two years. All that said, just rooting for Faison to come up with someone who can do for the football program what Hardee has done for the women's volleyball program.

CAS may be right on this. No Press Conference may very well mean green_sioux was right and Mussman is staying. Don't need a press conference to announce that.
  20. since Nielson just moved to WIU this year, doubt he would be interested

and Brett Favre finished his career in Minnesota, Wade Boggs went from the Red Sox to the Yankees, the list goes on and on. you gotta think careers like Hazelton's would benefit from resurrecting a program like UND's current situation. would be a feather in his hat, much like what Bohl has done for his career at NDSU. (not that he is a shoo-in for the job, but he might be interested, and if he is, he should be considered)
