  1. Seriously? This is the discussion 2 days before a Bison game? Could this be the first D-I year that NDSU loses to all 3 Dakota schools? How long has it been since that happened?
  2. What would be the chance that if UND wins this weekend, that Bubba would feel that mission is accomplished and it is now ok for him to sail off into the fundraising mode of his career? Or, on the flip side, that another ‘bad’ loss may lead to someone (or several someone’s) stepping up to buy out the rest of his contract?
  3. How could the decision makers NOT know that UND would have to eventually follow the XDSUs into FCS? And how could they NOT know that would put UND way behind them? You would think Roger Thomas would have been screaming to not let UND get left behind, instead…
  4. agree with UND FB FAN on this… EXPECT (not hope) to win the game. plan accordingly and execute.
  5. iirc you were one of the gobc that was pushing for UND/Faison to hire Schweigert over DeBoer.
  6. Portland State 91 - 0 over North American University. Must have taken a knee every snap in the 4th Quarter. Scored 91 points in 3 quarters. 42 points in the 2nd Quarter alone. 2 weeks after losing to Oregon 81 - 7.
  7. Watched most of the Arizona - NAU game. The Lumberjacks are better than the score shows. Teeder’s analysis is spot-on. Will be a tough game.
  8. Would be nice if they could keep that up!
  9. With their history, NDSU would more than likely be included in the playoffs with a 6 - 5 record. What 6 games will they lose?
  10. Looks like the ACC might accept Stanford, Cal and SMU. A couple random thoughts from a fan of the old PAC 12. side question… What is “Atlantic” about Indiana (Notre Dame), Texas (SMU) and California (Stanford/Cal)? If OR State and Wazzu stay PAC 12 and bring in 8 or 10 schools to return to PAC 10/12, would it still be considered a Power 5 Conference? Conversely, if they go to either the MWC or AAC, will it then be Power 4 and Group of 5? And what would happen to the PAC’s FBS playoff and March Madness credits? No matter what, the demise of the PAC 12 embodies what is wrong with the NCAA and college athletics in the quest for the almighty television dollar. How can (almost weekly) coast to coast travel be good for the student athlete? If the ACC takes Stanford, Cal and SMU, the B1G, Big XII and ACC will have schools on both coasts and across 3 or 4 time zones. The only conference that would be regional is the SEC. (Unless the PAC can somehow rebuild itself with MWC schools). Knowing it will never happen… OSU and WSU add the Mountain West state schools to the PAC - Hawaii, Nevada, UNLV, Utah State, Colorado State, Wyoming and New Mexico along with Air Force. (I think they would have to vote to dissolve the MWC to avoid the exit fee) The city/commuter schools can then rebuild the MWC. Problem with this scenario being no Cali schools, but maybe San Diego and San Jose to make 12, but still would prefer the state schools + AF. I know, it will never happen, especially since it would hang Boise and Fresno. End rant. fire away!
  11. Has there been an official announcement?
  12. Olivera with another 100+ yard game and a receiving touchdown. Heard one of the announcers say “it’s Brady Olivera time” on a short yardage situation
  13. A really random question… if the B1G would add only Stanford, would that make the B1G more appealing to Notre Dame? The B1G would then have most of Notre Dame’s long-time rivals except Navy.
  14. So, if the networks are willing to pay more on the B1G and Big XII contracts to add the PAC12 schools to those conference payments, are Stanford, Cali, OSU and WSU so bad that the networks were not willing to pay the PAC12? I know I am showing my age, but what has happened to NCAA sports with realignment, transfer portal, NIL, and the endorsement of biological males competing and showering with biological females (funny, there is not a problem the other way, only men in women’s sports - what happened to Title IX?). Not to even bring up forcing (only some) schools to change their nicknames! Will common sense ever return to college athletics?
  15. Isn’t the MWC already a 12 team football conference? 11 basketball plus Hawaii fb.
  16. Wouldn’t it make sense for the B1G to now add Stanford and Cali at a reduced share a’la Oregon & Washington? Have those 6 as a western pod. (6 of the old PAC 8) Would reduce travel for Olympic Sports, yet allow for cross-division national matchups. Also would lock up California…
  17. The Mountain West was formed by 8 schools splitting from the 16 team WAC. Would those (now 12) teams be willing to form another 16 team conference? The PAC 4 doesn’t have a large enough media package for MWC breakaway schools to recover their exit fees. Read an article that said the MWC’s media package was better than the PAC’s. Sad times for college athletics fans in the western third of the country.
  18. will #14 be Utah or Yormark’s dark horse U Conn?
  19. Yeah, still a pretty significant ‘empty’ between the Dakota 4 and the Montanas.
  20. This is why the Dakota 4 and the Montanas must stay together. As the previous President of the U of Idaho said, there is a large gap in the FCS map. The problem is travel and small population/viewer base.
  21. WWSVS? *What Would Sioux Volley Say? RIP Sioux Volley, but we miss your insight
  22. So now that Colorado to the Big 12 has been announced, and since I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night… What is the real benefit of mid-major FBS over FCS?
  23. Where? I really think the Dakotas, Montanas and Idaho missed the bus when C-USA was raided a couple years ago. Those schools should have lobbied hard for C-USA to add a northern division then if the Dakotas were ever going to go FBS
  24. I think this validates what UND-FB-FAN is saying.
