The upside is that DeBoer has had much more impact as a head coach than he had as a coordinator. Maybe Schmidt could be the same. Hope that coordinators from NDSU, SDSU and maybe even USD apply and get consideration. Bring in the culture of winning.

Arizona State was a dumpster fire under Herm Edward’s. They are in the Big 12 Championship game after being picked to finish last in the preseason poll. Kenny Dillingham turned the program around in 2 years Jedd Fisch took longer at U of Arizona , but he also elevated a team without history to new heights in 3 years. It can be done.

Wasn’t Freund the QB coach as well? Does it say that the QB coach can develop an ND 9-man QB, or does it say that the QB coach cannot further develop a player with great high school career?

Depends… Arch Manning is (like Kaminski) a RS Freshman, and was one of the top 2 high school recruits in the nation. He is still waiting behind Ewers (also a junior like Romfo) at Texas. Why would Kaminski not be willing to be a 2 year starter as a Junior and Senior? On top of that, Manning has gotten playing time and had on-field success for the Longhorns, so you would think he would be less settled as a backup, but sounds like he will stay at Texas. I get why Feeney left, same class as Romfo and we have seen how little playing time the backup QB at UND gets.
