  1. What??? The black Dallas jerseys look pretty sick, much better than the Predators . Their new ones do appear to be modeled after ours though.
  2. I'm wondering how bad B10 Hockey is going to effect our future recruitment? We have top notch facilities and coaching staff, and easily the best environment for a player/student could hope for, but the NCHC tv deal with CBS blows (at least for UND exposure).
  3. That's what scares me. Anyone know if there is a clause in the contract that allows them to back out if the new division forbids them to play FCS teams?
  4. This is slightly off topic and I apologize if it has already been addressed. Has Seth Jones committed to anywhere or is he going straight to the pros?
  5. I noticed that as well. Why did Dallas get a new logo and jerseys, I thought they easily had one of the best looking in the NHL. That said, I can hardly wait for UND to get new uniforms.
  6. Raising our academic and research status will also help out our athletic programs in the future in the event of any more conference realignments. The bigger conferences are always looking for like minded institutions as well as media markets.
  7. 2017 gives us time to get the IPF up and running and recruit some better athletes. Who knows, we might be playing FBS by then (not likely, but you never know with all the realignments going on).
  8. It's amazing that he Big 10 would add an affiliate member for lacrosse, but not for hockey? You would think that they would have considered adding Notre Dame, BC, Denver, Miami, or UND for hockey if they are okay with affiliate membership.
  9. As much as I love the idea of a new football stadium (the see through glass roof would be sick), I think the next facility after the IPF should be a new basketball arena. Phil Jackson Arena has a nice ring to it, don't you think? Although I'm not a huge B-ball fan, it is the sport with the most potential to get UND big time national recognition. A new Basketball arena coupled with the IPF would bring us in a whole new caliber of men and women basketball players and increase the odds of us being at the Big Dance year in and year out!
  10. I wonder if FBS teams are going to be reluctant to schedule a team like NDSU? Typically you want to schedule FCS teams that pose the smallest risk so that you can't that one FCS win towards the six needed to be bowl eligible.
  11. Yeah, I just noticed that. The fourth was suppose to be Ed Belfoure, butterfingers
  12. Question for all the hard core Sioux hockey fans, which former Sioux players have been part of a Stanley Cup winning team? I want to say there have been 10. The 4 I'm aware of are Mike Commodore, Matt Greene, and Jonathan Towes. Who am I missing?
  13. They need someone to get that defense under control or we will be visiting the woodshed frequently next season.
  14. It makes sense. The only way he can avoid being banned from a message board is to create his own.
  15. I would think Saint Cloud would be the best contender of the bunch you listed off. They have a decent sized student body, decent (not stellar) academics, and a desirable media market. Would be a good road trip for Bison fans.
  16. I think the Big Sky is a much better fit for NDSU than any other FCS conference. I'm not a huge of NDSU, but that's mainly because of people like Lakes and a few others. With that said, I think NDSU is a really good school both academically and athletically and would be a nice addition to the Sky. Both UND and NDSU would be guaranteed at least one sold out game every other year in football, and every year for basketball. Not to mention the great atmosphere those games would provide fans from both schools. Wouldn't this rivalry be a lot more fun if there were a conference championship on the line, instead of our alumni just trolling each other over battles no longer fought? I want to hate NDSU for the right reasons.
  17. Wouldn't the Big Sky provide the multiple match ups your season ticket holders would want to see (UND, Montana, MSU, and EWU)?
  18. It's a good thing we don't need a vote from either them, were fine right where we are. It's ridiculous to even entertain the idea of leaving the Big Sky, even in the hypothetical.
  19. I heard that theyre thinking about diverting some of the nearby railroad tracks over to the demolition site to help speed up the hauling off of the debris.
  20. I for one really hope that NDSU along with the SD schools join us in the Sky! Lets face it neither of us is ever going to play in one of elite conferences, we dont have the facilities and more importantly we dont reside in the types of media markets these conferences are looking for. However, a conference with all the Dakota flagships along with both Montana schools makes for a very stable conference that is much more likely to generate the interest in the regions to demand high quality media coverage not only in the mid-west but also nationally. Throw in Idaho (when/if we jump to FBS) Denver, and Omaha to increase media markets. This would be a very good thing for all parties involved, a conference made up mostly of flagship institutions with loyal fan bases.
  21. If the Big Sky added NDSU, SDSU, SDU, and Idaho it would make a very attractive and stable FBS conference. This is a great opportunity if they can make it happen.
  22. My Predators are absolutely embarrassing this year I'm not a fair weather fan so I'll stick with em, but geez, this is painful. Hope we get some good draft picks out of it.
  23. It's really hard to watch any team but ours win the championship. How long till we get to have this experience again? What's are team looking like next year? Is it going to be a team built around Rocco, or do we have any new guys who are going to step up?
  24. I know I'll get slammed for this, but I'm not sure any FCS team should be considering making the investment into FBS football. The BCS will break off, it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. When that happens there will be little to nothing left in terms of tv deals for the have nots. We should just stay in the Sky and play lower-tier football against good regional teams and concentrate on building up our basketball and hockey programs, as they are the most likely to bring national attention to UND's athletic program. I love UND football and will always be a fan, but lets be honest, it's not likely to go anywhere.
  25. The new NCHC logo actually looks good, not crazy about the Target Center but we all knew that was probably going to happen. I wonder if the NCHC or anybody at UND is currently talking to Fox sports about their new national sports network? Theyre launching Fox Sports with will add additional online sports content similar to that of ESPN3, maybe they would like a piece of the UND hockey ratings (what ever they may be).
