Hats off to NDSU, they have capitalized on their success and made a very good case as to why they are the pride of North Dakota. UND athletics have been very disappointing this year (women's basketball excluded). I wonder how much this year will hurt the perception and support of UND athletics in the state? It won't be good, that's for sure.

Personally, I blame last night's loss (and really any UND men's hockey loss) on that terrible Midco theme song "Get on Your Feet". It's like "we're taking away your kick ass logo, but here's a crappy theme song to tide you over". Hope the boys can get back to playing Fighting Sioux hockey.

Is the Reebok Authentics at the Sioux Shop the only place to get hockey jerseys customized in Grand Forks? Years ago I go mine done at a place in the Columbia mall and they did an awesome job at a fraction of the cost of the Sioux Shop.

Definitely dark times for UND athletics. The only way it could get worse is if NDSU got an invite to an FBS conference. In that event they would probably become the state's favorite team. I guess we're about to find out what our leadership is really made of.

I'm so glad to see that others hate this song as much as I do. I've actually been making a mad dash for the mute button every time I hear it come on. It's a good attempt, but at the end of the day the song and genre doesn't represent UND hockey. I would love to see Midco drop it for something more ESPNish.

Will this game be televised in the Grand Forks area?

I wasn't aware they got anything for the CBSCCS, any idea how much? I think Midco sucks worse than CBS in terms of limiting the number of households UND hockey plays in. It's too bad they can't hash something out with Fox College Sports, I know there are a lot of alumni and fans that would appreciate it.

I've been noticing quite a bit of advertising for NDSU athletics around Grand Forks. I've seen billboards very close to campus as well as advertisements in the Herald and on their website. I've lived here for seven years and don't recall ever seeing this before. NDSU seems like they are putting a lot into a statewide campaign to become North Dakota's main athletic program. Kind of scary times for UND right now with the visible programs on the downswing. Is it me or has anybody else noticed this as well?

I really wish I could have had the opportunity to watch a game from the Old Ralph. I've heard so many good things about the atmosphere in that place, too bad they couldn't have had a few exhibition games in there before they tore it down.

I like the first row upper or the very top row upper. I've been on the glass on numerous occasions and loved being up close to the action, especially during big hits and fights. But, I always felt like my view was obstructed by the dirty and scratched up plexi glass. Much rather be in the upper.

I had forgotten that I made this one too. Definitely not one of my favorites.

Wasn't exactly sure which thread topic this belonged under. This is something I've been working on for a while now and just thought I'd share it with you guys. Whether I'm there in person or only in spirit (at home watching on tv), the Ralph is one of my favorite places on Earth. It's not just the level of play and tradition of UND hockey, but the people, pageantry, and energy of that building that creates the perfect atmosphere for the game we love. We all know that there isn't a bad seat in the Ralph, but in my opinion the upper bowl offers a vantage point that allows the spectator to take it all in.

I know I'm going to take a beating from you guys for this. We all know that this season has not been ideal, and to be honest, very disappointing. But at what point do you realize that in the greater scheme of things, it's just a game. Obviously, something has to be done to address performance issues on and off the field, but it just seems kind of harsh to sit back and demand that someone lose their job and the ability to provide for their family. Lets step back and have a little faith that the athletic dept. and coaching staff can hash out a solution of how to put this program back on the upswing before we start bolting for the fallout shelters. Just my two cents.

So the Bison's mascot is now named after Lee Corso???
