not enough guns for RR - that's been their problem all year. The last regular season conference game was a fluke - Central was asleep at the switch. Gilbraith can be good in goal but he's no superstar (AND WHAT'S WITH THE HAIR??) Tarek will have the guys ready to go and it will be a good game but not particularly tight...Central 4-1 (empty netter for the fourth goal) No shame to RR but Central repeats as Champs vs. Fargo South...

And ST. MARY'S in the first place? Anyone check out their athletic facilities?? They're a 2500 student private school with a rickety old stadium that seats 5,500 -- WOW!! I'm blown away by the glamor of DI-AA!! They sound like the Morningside of the NCC and will likely be (if they join) a punching bag for a few years before the travel costs kill them. BUT HEY!! The Bison need home dates and imagine the excitement of bringing the GAELS to the Fargodome!! (...was that a tumbleweed blowing through the barn?...)

Someone should hook Monticello up with Wahpeton-Breckenridge - the cross river toilet bowl!

Let me add to the congrats for the Sioux Womens Team and their winning season. It's going to take a while (attendance-wise) but they're coming along. Entering the Womens WCHA next year will help them begin building. It's not anywhere near mens hockey but, at times, is very entertaining and a great way for "newbie" hockey fans to get into the Ralph without taking out a second mortgage. UND should follow the U oF M's lead (GAAHH!-CHOKING!! Can't believe I said that!)...anyway...my point was dropping womens hockey ticket prices to as low as humanly possible. 600 people in the Ralph paying $4 a ticket is better than 200 people in the Ralph paying $10 a ticket - plus you've got better concession potential...everyone has to start somewhere!! BACK TO MAIN POINT - Way to go Shantel! (she's a keeper)

Don't know if anyone caught it or really cares but last weekends EDC HS Hockey tourney at the Ralph was a great triumph for the true hockey spririt. Fargo Shanley - only in their 2nd year as an independent HS team came into the tourney as the #7 seed but managed to upset Red River (#2), take Fargo South (#3) to OT in the second round, then lose a heartbreaker to Grafton Park River (#4) in the state qualifying game. This coming in with only 4 wins on the season. They outworked RR, were outgunned (and came back) against Fargo South and ditto against GPR. Two shorthanded goals in the third when they were down 2...even though they didn't make State - best wishes to the Shanley program and their coaches - the Burgraff brothers - in the future. They've got great things ahead for a young program and thanks for a great run. Anyone else catch it?

"KVLY has a vested interest in UND" -- BASED ON WHAT??? How many UND sports do they broadcast? (None) KFGO does have broadcast rights for UND sports but KVLY/KFGO DO NOT have any financial partnership. KFGO is owned by Clearchannel Communications - a national media conglomerate. KVLY is owned by a regional partnership called ND Television LLC. The relationship is completely cooperative based on promtional ties. KVLY promotes KFGO on tv and KFGO has 11 personalities on the radio to promote KVLY - nothing more. "KVLY is the biggest fence straddling media i've seen" -- It's called OBJECTIVITY for a REGIONAL television station that covers both the Fargo and GF markets. NO they're not "too cheap" to have a "STUDIO" in GF...they have a Bureau in GF with reporters providing coverage from GF - not unlike WDAY uses WDAZ for material when it fits their fancy. KVLY provides coverage for the entire VALLEY - and I for one say thanks! I'm curious about what's going on around me - not just in the little ego-centric bubble I live in - maybe that's just me. If UND is playing a big hockey series against the U of M - THAT SHOULD BE THE LEAD! Not the Bison beating up on Jamestown in a non-conference game. That's why I like them...they recognize priorities and have them straight! "FOX NEWS is the closest thing to an objective news program in FARGO" -- HHHAAAA!!! That's the biggest joke of all! This thread seems to have gotten away from the main topic that Steve Hallstrom and WDAY have their noses so far up NDSU's Bison-hole it's embarrassing!! THEY have a lot to protect with their TV and Radio Contracts. Radio won't be affected as much because they'll still broadcast the games WHEREVER the hell they are but the "UPPER MIDWEST SPORTS LEADER (tv) " will be reduced to maybe televising the SDSU game (yyyaawwnn) and Minnesota HS section basketball while their poorer sister (WDAZ) broadcasts 30+ UND games a year (fb, bb, and hockey) STATEWIDE!!!!!!!!! Hallstroms rant (and frankly the entire DI move) is all about NDSU and FARGO getting their ass kicked by GF and UND on just about every level. They're freaked OUT and ready to do anything to get back on the forefront - and to hell with everyone else!!!

depends if you're talking short term or long term...Zach is a great guy - but will he be here next season???! Jordan is almost guarenteed to be a four year guy plus he's got serious game! I'll take jordan for longevity!
