We lost them all Frogger...top three receivers all graduated...there's some hope there though. We've got a couple guys who got some experience, including Caleb "The Human Scab" Johnson. They call him that because he'll dive anywhere, anytime for a ball and he had several (nice) catches in the spring game. The offense suffered a bit from our top QB having to sit out spring drills so it was a 3-way race for the #2 spot and they looked to be trying too hard - 6 turnovers is too much. I'm a little worried about the running game but the CRACK Adam Roland took and walked away from was encouraging...I think he'll be a lot tougher this year...Jim Miller has officially bagged it because of the knee problems - that's too bad. Overall, the defense did dominate, with a lot of younger guys making their presence known...that's encouraging too! Can't wait til the fall baby!!

One trip to the "DANCE" will be about all you get in 100 years so enjoy it!! I can SeeItNow...dateline 2064: A small, financially stricken college called NORTH DAKOTA STATE has made the NCAA'S!! NDSU qualifies as a the final seed for March Madness and promptly loses by 20 in the first round...BUT HEY...the residents of Fargo were ecstatic for the ENTIRE 3 days following the announcement and the playing of the first round game. AD Rocky Entzion Taylor IV was qouted as saying..."what a long strange trip it's been, but this brief appearance has made our DI move worth it - you knuckleheads!!!" The sound of one-hand clapping was followed by several tumbleweeds blowing through the scene of press conference...SEE YA IN 2164!!!

Man it would have been great to have Lueck for at least another year - and especially against GVSU. Could have been the difference maker. Anyone notice the first time the Lakers punted, they punted away from the "receiver"...apparently thinking it might be Lueck?? Anyway - he will be remembered for making Bobby "TOAST" Babich look exactly like his team nickname....that was fun!

digging through the media guide today and found out UND hasn't won a NCC title in baseball since 1967!! WOW - who'd have thought it would have been that long...been some good teams since then but they never could wrangle a conference title. Best item was the record of the 1898 team. They played 1 GAME - beat the "GF RIVALS" 23-2 and called it a season...wow...

Put yourself in UND's shoes...if you guys had won this last game...would you be willing to send it off to Bismarck or give it to the geeks in the BK club?? NOT!!! I think you're on the right track with Digger...only getting better and he's pretty GD good right now! We've got the Nickel for as long as we want to keep it thanks to him! Just the fact the NDSU went to Montana and beat them last season tells you there isn't much difference between the top level of DII and DI-AA --- HELLO --- NDSU was a good team but not a great team last season - as evidenced by their season record. You'd think a DII team slaying a DI-AA DRAGON like that would have ripped through their (self proclaimed now-PITIFUL) division!!!!!...oh...I guess not!!!!!! (waiting for NDSU to melt down their "worthless" DII NC trophy's to make the new "BIG STICK" trophy to replace the nickel!!!) STICK THAT!

You're absolutely correct this discussion should be moved to another thread...and I'm not going to start it. Pat - you're a nice guy and I like you - but I won't engage in this discussion anymore here out of respect for this website. I snapped with frustration when I read the thread....My thoughts are also with the men from ND who have died but I don't back down from my position and can defend it well (as we're finding out piece by piece every day now)...another time...another place perhaps but for now I lay down my sword...

Unfortunately...the reason you have a press conference is to announce something...WDAZ had no idea what they would be saying - so your complaint would best be directed to the Polk County Sheriffs Department. I'm sure they'd be glad to receive your complaint about missing part of a HOCKEY GAME because the local TV station did what everyone expected them to do and carry a press conference on a very important news item LIVE - regardless of the content or lack thereof - again - 'DAZ had no idea what to expect. Law enforcement doesn't generally brief the media on the potential content a press conference like this before the event - THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE THE PRESS CONFERENCE. Did you live? Survive missing 15-20 minutes or so of your hockey game? I hope it didn't affect your life too much...Sure you're pissed but a family received confirmation of their worst nightmare today and frankly, my thoughts were with them rather than worrying about the outcome of a stupid game...I don't mean to sound like a jerk but your post just tripped something off that I had to type out. It's actually a pretty good plan...the Betty will be used mainly as a practice facility and a venue for non-conference (ie lower attendance games). The Ralph will be used for conference games....(lower bowl seating only - for the most part) The fund drive is a chance for other alums to contribute to the completion of a great project. Let's face it...the coaches offices in Hyslop were basically holes in the wall and there was no impressive lobby or "tradition area" like there will be in the Betty. ALL TOLD - this will be a 120 million dollar multi-sports complex for a mostly "DII" college. (poor us...NOT!) There are a lot of DI schools....(some who shall remain nameless....OKAY....NDSU!!!....are begging for a place like this for their new-self important status but they won't get anything close unless their their big-buck alumni (?) start ponying up some $$$$ The BSA has been a PIECE-O-CRAP for a long time - we should consider ourselves fortunate we're only looking for 1/2 a mill to finish out the Betty in proper style...which it deserves considering the surroundings...

I say good...and too bad they are only misdemeanor charges....people who do these kind of things only cheapen real crimes like the REAL abduction and murder of Dru Sjodin...maybe she should have to leave her cushy "mental" hospital and slog around the banks of the Red looking for Dru's body for a couple days...might change her whole "outlook" on life

If USD can't handle BASEBALL (and I agree Tom Carcione is a cool guy! - Man, the Varmints were fun while they lasted....) what does that say about SDSU's chances for success at DI?? Everyone knows they've bit off WAY MORE than they can chew, but like another school down south, felt the need to do SOMETHING to make themselves "BETTER" than their competition....GOOD LUCK!!!!
