frankly, Rich has NO excuse if he can't recruit to a DII school with the facilities we will have this fall....I appreciate the previous posts and I understand your arguements (and frankly agree with most of the "problems") but it's time to SH*T or get off the pot...

anyone hear anything about Rizah (sp?) Mahmoud coming back??...last fall Dale said he had "academic issues" but he was supposedly still in school, eligible for track this spring (haven't confirmed that) and was hoping to get his ducks in a row to go back out for FB....anything there?

I can understand why it frustrates FANS when college guys go pro early but put yourself in THEIR SHOES...someone's wagging anywhere from $50,000 to 1 MILLION DOLLARS in your face to go pro for playing a stupid GAME and you're not going to grab it?? Sorry but you'd be a fool to hang around for nothing more than "school pride" --- We were lucky we had Zach for 2 years (remember Landon Wilson??? He didn't have much better of a freshman year than Zach did but bailed early and took his chances - for better or WORSE as it turned out - you never know what can happen and Zach was lucky he never got crippled playing in the "what penalty??" WCHA....I wish him the best of luck and thanks for the memories....and for bringing your brother here!!!

say what you want about Terry Wanless (and I could say a LOT - i hated that egg-headed jerk) but he summoned up the balls to fire Gino and damn near got lynched for it. Sure it cost him his job eventually when uncle Ralph came around but he never bitched about that. (I guess a couple YEARS severance pay takes care of any hurt feelings but he could have gone out kicking and screaming!! I know rog and rich are good friends, they've both got kids playing for the Sioux FB team, and it would be a horrible situation...that's why I think it would be an orchestrated "retirement" rather than a firing...he announces it just before next season starts...then it's do or die for the Elite 8 at the Ralph. Either way, Rich goes out saving face (which I'm all for) and UND can move on to a new coach who can produce a winning program...

And laugh all the way to the bank!! Deep in his heart he might have a few pangs about leaving but I'm sure checking his account balance while kicking back in Faribault next season might make him feel better...especially when the new rookies don't get squat after the lockout...FACE IT...Zach made the right choice for himself and who of us wouldn't have done exactly the same thing under the same circumstances. A great college career and a national championship would be a fantastic memory - but it doesn't pay the bills.

I know this is a delicate subject with some people but I think we need to talk about it too...Is next years NC staged at the Ralph RG's last shot to make a run before he heads off into the sunset? People have been rumbing for awhile but the fact maybe UND should "move on" has always been brushed off...but perhaps this next season will be the real test. I think hosting the Elite 8 in GF is Rich's last shot to produce a winner before he does a Dave Gunther and moves "on" after a long career at UND. Don't get me wrong....Rich is a great guy and and a great promoter of UND but he's just not getting it done...thoughts???

I'd be curious too as to the status of the radio rights...Clearchannel is the 400 lb. Gorilla in this deal - too much money - too many stations to put the Sioux on in ND (but that's ok - the more exposure the better for UND). I frankly can't think of anyone who could be competitive with them. Leighton Broadcasting (KNOX, KCNN, et al) can't put up the money, provide the talent, or give UND the network UND has grown accustomed too...hopely they'll take a shot though. Clearchannel could get a VERY sweet deal if there's no competition...

now you jokers talk like winning the "GREAT WORST CONFERENCE" is a big deal...(stifling a laugh) HELLO!! It's a bunch of DII refugees who don't have anywhere else to go because legit DI-AA conferences slammed their doors in your face despite your great DII reputations. You might as well have stuck around and tried to do something at the DII level rather than tucking your tail between your legs and running away. The Great WORST will be a joke in the DI-AA world for a long time...regardless of how many NAIA schools you beat up. You jerks were so desperate to one-up UND you only succeeded in moving to a MARGINALLY BETTER FB conference while screwing all your other sports forever! UNI landed its team in the NCAA 64 this season for the first time in 15 YEARS (and only the 2nd time EVER since they moved up)...and promptly went one and out...that's what you have to look forward too outside of the 4 months of FB every year. WHOO HOOO!!! We had three sports contending for national titles this year...too bad things didn't work out but you've got 1 sport that might make some waves on the national scene by 2010...and don't bring up that softball and wrestling crap...there are more people at Mcdonalds on $1 Fillet o fish Friday than there have ever been at a wrestling match or softball game...again...YOU'RE THE *SSHOLES!!!!!!!!

Personally, I'd like to have Zach around just one more year as a representative of UND!! What a class act - upstanding citizen and great p.r. guy for UND when he does interviews all over the country. Mind you...I want to see him keep playing for UND for another year for his skills too...AM I STUPID!?! But he's a great guy to have around GF regardless and he'll always be welcome here ANYTIME! If he decides to go...best of luck and thanks for the memories Zach and we hope you remember GF...we'll always remember you!

HE was pretty cool - - you should have seen him almost bite it falling over the glass Friday night. Climbed up on top - blew his bit - the toppled over. Caught himself with his legs but nutted himself getting back upright. He almost had to crawl up the steps...anyone else catch this?
