It's the worst idea since Peterson's Porch in the Alerus Center. -
I don't blame them one bit.

UND (0-1) vs Elon (1-1) 11/12 1 PM

I don't think any opponent outside of Northland will be a cupcake to this team. -
I enjoy tailgating before games as much as anybody. I enjoy meeting people at tailgating. I am well aware that the world doesn't stop spinning on its axis if we don't win. I am all for enjoying life while we are alive (the recent loss of Katie Richards hammers that home). But that is not what this thread or forum is about. This thread is about the 2023 FB season and where we stand as a team and a program. And the biggest problem with our program is not people like @UND-FB-FAN or myself. It is posts and attitudes like this, where 7-4 is considered good enough and we shouldn't say one negative thing about it. It is attitudes like this that convince people like Chaves and Armacost that a change is not needed and everything is just fine as it is. It is this same philosophy that has held back all our non-hockey programs for the past 15 years (ever since we moved up from D-II to D-I). The attitude of "I don't like we lost, but these are just 'student-athletes', so it doesn't really matter if we win or lose" is simply not appropriate for a Division I collegiate athletics program like UND. This is not high school, where if the team never wins anything, it doesn't matter. And as long as we keeping running this athletic department like that, we will continue experiencing more of the same around here. If you want to focus on having a positive attitude about life in general, go read Zig Ziglar. Because that is not what this forum is about. This is the toy department of life. And it is not asking too much to expect something decent under the tree once in awhile.

Yeah, I remember the debacle at Canisius a few years ago. -
2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
fightingsioux4life replied to AlphaMikeFoxtrot's topic in Men's Hockey
Yes, the #drivefornine is looking good so far. Lot of season left, though. -
Cripes, even UND FB can't do that.
-
Our fan base does this literally every time we lose. And even after some wins. Anyway, a sweep is a sweep.
-
Why do both basketball teams tease us with potential and underperform when the rubber meets the road?
-
If there are no signs of progress next season, then I will be concerned about the long-term trajectory of the program.

NDUS Budget Cuts (changed name to be system-wide)

Fired college and professional coaches have been paid not to work for years. -
No, I think 6-5 is more than enough to earn another extension. That's the UND way.
-
Yep, the Status Quo Brigade will be working overtime to spin this game.
-
To be fair, hockey hasn't done anything special since 2016. But I agree, pitting one program against another isn't helpful.

At least make him earn the starting job in Fall.
-
I am sure it's being worked on as we speak.
-
Time for another contract extension.
-
But remember everyone, these are student-athletes, so it doesn't matter if they win or lose.
-
Nope, quality losses only count if your school initials are U-N-I.
-
Cripes, people are talking like we lost. Has anyone considered that UMD stepped up after a bad 1st period and played better the next 40 minutes? A road win never comes easy in this league. Just enjoy the win.

Please tell me you put money on this game.

Tackling is an issue at all levels of the sport. Even the NFL has poor tackling.
