NCAA logic at its finest.

So many former UND players getting into the coaching profession.

Simple and accurate. Fair enough.

I thought after 2016 we weren't going to talk about 2011 anymore? Let's focus on this year's squad, which is shaping up to be pretty good. -
Then what should we call it? Any ideas? I really wish they would get rid of these stupid formulas and go back to something that makes sense. Have an NCAA-wide 4x4 OT for 10 minutes. If it's still tied, then it goes down as a tie. If someone scores in OT, it is a win (not 55% or 67% or anything else). We have made this way too complicated.

The human brain doesn't stop developing until your mid to late 20's, so I think that is a better dividing line between kid and adult. The legal definitions we put in place are not always 100% accurate. And FWIW, he will be able to buy us a beer, but we can't buy HIM a beer, thanks to the NCAA.

So @InHeavenThereIsNoBeer is full of crap?

Hopefully the team will earn a top four seed in March and this whole discussion will be moot.
-
Mankato's shootout "win" the weekend before was literally worth ZERO (the game officially goes down as a tie, a 50-50 split). Our OT win last Saturday night was worth 55% (a 55-45 split in our favor). That 5% doesn't seem like much until you remember when the Goofs missed the tournament by .0001 in the PWR a few years back. It could also make the difference between a higher or lower seed. Not that I want to have to rely on that come March, but you never know if it will be significant until Selection Sunday rolls around.

It is easy to forget how hard it is for these kids to make big decisions like this. Especially with adults talking in their ears with their well-intentioned, but sometimes unhelpful, advice. Our team is loaded up-front this year and Spicer is getting playing time at Duluth. So it worked out for both programs. -
Would you rather pretend we got swept? Picking nits is hazardous for your health.

Overall, I like this year's team way better than last year's. In almost every area (Offense, Defense, Goaltending). Only thing that needs work is PP, which I think will get better over time. -

I love Strinden. I haven't seen enough of James to offer an opinion. -
I think Tupac needs more time to get his players and systems in place. That being said, this season was a disappointment. Not many signs of progress.

Wasn't that the same logic people used for VB this year?
-
You are assuming NDSU will win out. Don't they have two tough games?

He has been a Sandy worshipper way before Spicer started playing there. -
If we win our last two games, I think we have a shot.

So am I. But it just didn't work out for Spicer. And I don't think our team is desperate for forward talent right now. -
With 3 losses, no they won't.

Second CFP Rankings come out at 6pm CT tonight. Any predictions?

The BU announcers were idiots.

Yeah, UNI often has an automatic bid if they are 6-5 and have two quality losses to FBS teams.
-
Once those new FBS regulations take effect in a few years, some of those "FBS in name only" schools will have to either drop FB or drop down to FCS. Ball State and Bowling Green may be in the same subdivision as Georgia and Alabama, but that is where the similarities end.
