  1. How do you know that wasn't by design? This staff seems to want to run the ball and stick with short to medium range passing game.
  2. That is funny! I am negative when it is called for, but I also give credit when it is called for and I really think this staff will have this program in the playoffs in a couple of years. This year, the goal should be to win more than we lose.
  3. Man, some of you guys are talking like we LOST today! It's a win and we are 3-1 just two years removed from an absolute train wreck. There will be ups and downs along the way, but don't forget we are playing a lot of freshman (true and redshirt) and we don't have a lot of overall team depth. People need to get off the freaking ledge and stop acting like the program is still a mess because I think we are headed in the right direction.
  4. Well, it was the choice of B.R.I.D.G.E.S. (the anti-Fighting Sioux nickname group) and it is unlikely to "offend" anybody, so that is a reasonable hypothesis. But as a proud progressive, I reject the tendency of my ideological brethren to embrace political correctness. I think it is a slippery-slope that we should not even think of going down.
  5. It should have been dismissed as an option right from the start of the process, even before the committee was appointed.
  6. You have just illustrated why the voting is limited to UND stakeholders and is not open to Bison rubes who will stop at nothing to destroy UND.
  7. I am thinking the initial vote will go something like this: 1) Roughriders (35%) 2) Fighting Hawks (30%) 3) North Stars (15%) 4) Nodaks (15%) 5) Sundogs (5%) In the run-off, I see it going like this: 1) Roughriders (60%) 2) Fighting Hawks (40%) This isn't based on anything scientific, just a shot in the dark based on what I have seen and heard throughout this entire process.
  8. I have never really cared for Wayne Nelson and this makes me wish for his retirement as soon as possible.
  9. This has nothing to do with the BSC. It is because our transition sucked, Faison has given coaches way too much rope to hang their own programs with and our marketing still lags far behind NDSU. Joining the Slummit/MVFC won't change any of that.
  10. Some would argue he lost the team back in 2009 with the loss to a then-NAIA team.
  11. Well, I think it's butt ugly anyway.
  12. Pretty much what I have been saying this year.
  13. THIS x 1,000!!!
  14. So if you can't beat 'em, join 'em? That is one solution to this, but first the MVFC would have to agree to let us join. And I don't know if they would be willing to do that.
  15. They are listening to all the Slummit propaganda being put out by the Imperial Cass-Clay County media conglomerates.
  16. That means the rest of us need to get off our collective arses and VOTE! And thanks to Wayne Nelson's column this morning, this has become more urgent.
  17. No, they do not have to stop. It's a proven fact that when you have a coaching change, you have players from the previous regime leave or get dismissed for a variety of reasons. Some of Mussman's kids have succeeded under Bubba, but a large number have not. That is why we can't judge this staff until they have enough of their own recruits in the program. That will take a couple of years at the very least.
  18. Yeah, just like GFC "says it all" with regard to Grand Forks Central. And how long did that last, all of about 2 years? Sorry, but "Nodaks" is just a different version of "UND/North Dakota", which is probably why Nelson is pushing for it. And if it was so great, why was it dropped in the first place? Roll Roughriders! (Screw the Climax-Fisher Rule; I cannot believe Wayne Nelson has bought into that argument).
  19. I know, that is what I was thinking as well.
  20. Denver and Omaha don't have football, but other than that, they should all have very similar offerings.
  21. A conference with the Dakota Schools (SDSU, NDSU, USD, UND), the Montana Schools (UM, MSU) and a few others (Omaha, Northern Colorado, Eastern Washington) would be awesome in so many ways.
  22. Well, the Summit didn't want us because of the "evil, insensitive" Fighting Sioux name and logo. But who knows what the future holds?
  23. I think the image most people have of Sundogs is the weather phenomenon and that is why it is not popular on here. A husky-like dog mascot would be much different, but the PC crowd might want to use the weather phenomenon so that it doesn't "offend" somebody.
