  1. I also was skeptical of this administration, but I am more than happy to admit I was wrong. Major props to both Kelley and Faison for getting this done. I imagine more than a few coaches helped push this across the finish line, if you know what I mean.
  2. The Bison rubes are just upset that UND is matching what NDSU did about a week earlier. They were looking forward to UND not following up on this and thus being able to grind our non-hockey programs into dust, never to rise again. Faison's announcement on Wednesday put that idea on ice, never to rise again.
  3. Wow, you are accusing me of a lot of "crimes", aren't you? Too bad you can't prove any of it. And people think I bloviate on here!
  4. This is utter nonsense. You cannot trademark a name and then sue anyone that dares adopt it while using a different logo(s). Otherwise, you wouldn't have MSU-Mankato and Nebraska-Omaha both using the name Mavericks, with different logo designs. This threat has no legal standing or merit.
  5. The MVFC is solid; the Slummit is not.
  6. As long as we don't copy their logo(s), they can't stop us from using the name Roughriders. If that was the case, they couldn't use it either because of a certain CFL team that Weston Dressler plays for.
  7. So it would seem that our choices are limited to the four bolded sports above.
  8. I never said he hadn't done anything good. You are right, he has done a lot of good things. But there also have been some things that I didn't like. He took way too long to dump Mussman. He has given way too much rope to Jones; I hope his patience is rewarded the next couple of years, but I am not holding my breath. I still think some of the transition scheduling for several sports (especially football) could have been better (USD and NDSU kicked our butts in that regard). However, stepping up on this very important issue (which could have doomed our Division I prospects if we didn't handle it right) has definitely improved my perception of Faison. Now it's time for the coaches and athletes to take advantage of it.
  9. So far, we have: Men's Swimming and DivingWomen's Swimming and DivingBaseballThat would provide some savings.
  10. Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving are a couple of examples.
  11. I would tell him the same thing I told Climax-Fisher boosters when they whined and complained about this with regard to Grand Forks Central 20 years ago: I do not care. Get over it. As long as we don't have the exact same logo(s), there is nothing this guy can do about it.
  12. They might, along with other factors such as academics, research profile, etc.
  13. I still think a discussion needs to happen on the number of sports we sponsor. As for the struggles of football and basketball, Bubba is turning football around and Brewster will have WBB back in contention this year. Jones and MBB.....that's another story.
  14. Congrats to Faison and the entire UND administration on stepping up to the plate on this issue. This will make it possible for all our coaches to recruit on a level playing field. Congrats also to the benefactors that will make this possible.
  15. I immediately thought of the TRUNK monkey. I wish REA still ran that on the scoreboard video screen.
  16. I agree with this. The Sun Belt is the absolute bottom of the barrel in FBS. I think NDSU's 2013 team could have contended for the championship in that conference. I think FCS is the proper home for all four Dakota schools. The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.
  17. Oh, trust me Bison Dan, I am as irritated about that as anyone else.
  18. As long as Sundogs and Nodaks are eliminated during the initial round, I can live with whatever happens next.
  19. That consultant they hired did more harm than good. That is the only reason why "Hawks" is still alive.
  20. Yeah, I was guilty as charged. I have since shortened it considerably.
  21. If we don't fund FCOA for all our sports, then we might as well drop back down to Division II. It doesn't make any sense to build a new, state-of-the-art Indoor Practice Facility and then tie one arm of our non-hockey coaches behind their backs when it comes to recruiting, which is the lifeblood of any collegiate sport.
  22. I agree with this. I think we have too many sports for Division I. It might have been feasible to have over 20 sports as a Division II school, but not now.
  23. Thank you. Reducing the font sizes really makes a difference.
