  1. We'll cool his a$$ off, along with the rest of that team full of blockers and tacklers. We need to come out right away and set the pace and dare them to try and keep up with us.
  2. NDSU performed pretty well in the Slummit League tournament for a team with "injuries and locker room issues". Another feather in the cap of Richman and their program.
  3. Then by this logic, we should never accept invitations to tournaments like the CIT. And I wouldn't have a problem with that. It makes sense to focus 100% on making the tournament that everyone wants to be a part of, although if an NIT invitation ever came our way, I would want us to accept it.
  4. Here are back at the notion that UND is flat broke and can't afford to do anything about anything. Meanwhile, NDSU advertises all over creation (okay, the upper Midwest, but you get the point) and has to deal with the same budgetary issues that all NDUS schools have to deal with. Let Jones come back next season, but for heaven's sake, do NOT give him a big, fat extension. He hasn't earned it. Unless you think CIT berths are the benchmark of a low-major Division I basketball program.
  5. Saw this little tidbit in the Heraldo today: http://www.thedickinsonpress.com/sports/college/3985191-out-ncaa-and-nit-ndsu-mens-basketball-says-no-any-other-possible-postseason So instead of accepting an invitation to a lower-level tournament, Richman and his team will instead focus on being better next season so they can qualify for the tournament that matters. Setting high standards, what a concept! Around here, that is considered being "entitled" and "spoiled". But it really explains the difference in results between the two programs.
  6. If I am wrong, I will admit it. I will gladly eat crow if this team can win the Big Sky tournament and go dancing at a tournament other than the CIT.
  7. Well, when your team tanks after Christmas, I guess you take what you can get.
  8. If we can replicate what we did today, we have a chance. Let's hope they drop the Jekyll and Hyde routine and keep it rolling.
  9. It doesn't have to be one or the other. But I have learned over the years that pointing unpopular things out usually brings the wrath of God on top of you.
  10. Being right and popular are two entirely different things. I care way more about the former than the latter.
  11. You really believe the anti-Jones fans want us to lose so Jones will be replaced? That is pure horse crap. All of us want the men's team to do what the women's team did a couple of years ago. I just won't put any money on it happening this year.
  12. I honestly couldn't care less about those end of the season awards. They are very subjective and most players would tell you they would trade those individual honors for a team championship every single time.
  13. You are correct, sir. Sudden death doesn't kick in until March 25-27.
  14. The game in bold above was a total team meltdown that started with the short-handed breakaway goal we gave up late in the 1st period. It wasn't just Cam Johnson. And I think what happened last Saturday night was a product of the emotions with the Friday game and the fact that Saturday's game had just a fraction of the meaning, thus it was hard to get up for. That won't be a problem going forward.
  15. Cripes, he has one bad game the night after that emotional trophy presentation and everyone wants to throw him overboard. Cam Johnson will be fine.
  16. Youth hockey is becoming almost like professional hockey. How much longer before we start paying the players?
  17. Considering you are King of the Peanut Gallery, that is pretty rich.
  18. No, the whole "pay for it yourself" garbage. Whatever happens with Jones, it is Faison's job, not mine and not yours. Some people on this forum wanted Mussman to finish out his contract. If we found the cash to buy him out, why couldn't we find the cash to buy Jones out? Simple question.
  19. So, has he earned a 5 year contract extension?
  20. It is a waste of time arguing with jdub27, all he has are the same tired old talking points. If Jones does come back for next season, then there had better not be a contract extension attached to it. He hasn't earned it and if he doesn't earn it next season, it is time to wish him well on his future endeavors.
  21. Oh, I see, this is my problem to solve? Nope, it's Faison's problem to solve, that is what he gets paid to do. And I already give to the Champion's Club and have football and hockey season tickets, so you can take your smarmy comments and stick them where the sun doesn't shine. Or better yet, go back to Bisonville; it is clear you are a troll and couldn't care less about UND athletics.
  22. So you are okay with mediocrity? Reality bites.....and it will bite for Jones if he doesn't do something in the playoffs this year and next year.
  23. So is he going to get stuck in Europe for the majority of his career? I hope not.
  24. How in the HECK did Stecher not get drafted? Late bloomer? He is as fundamentally solid as any defenseman we have ever had here.
  25. Hey, come on now, the Badgers need some more creampuffs to make their record look more respectable.
