  1. I think Denver was struggling in the first half and pulled it together in the second half. When they swept us, we were coming off a bye week, we had the flu virus in the locker room, we had some players coming off of injuries who were rusty and the altitude was giving us trouble. Those things are not in play this time, so I expect a solid two goal victory on Thursday.
  2. I am already starting to get nervous.
  3. "You have to remember that no one in MN would want to listen to that." That will elicit a response on this forum and that is trolling.
  4. Beyond the Pond not talking about the Frozen Four because the Gophers aren't in it is like KFAN not talking about the Final Four because the Gophers aren't in it. If they want to cater to the Gophers most of the time, fine, go ahead. But to not talk about a major postseason college tournament because the home town team isn't in it is a little ridiculous.
  5. I just think there has to be better receivers than what the Vikings have now. That is what the draft is for.
  6. Rodent boy was trolling, he took a simple observation from MafiaMan and turned it into something else. So I pushed back. And he didn't have much of a response to it either. You're Welcome.
  7. I am aware of those things as well. But Rodent boy should understand that he won't find a friendly audience for his viewpoints on a UND Discussion Forum. And there will be push-back. And that is what I was doing. Any questions?
  8. I am aware of that. I was simply telling Rodent boy that the Gophers are not the Center of the Midwest Hockey Universe like they think they are and that there are teams outside of the Land of 10,000 Excuses.
  9. If "Beyond the Pond" is going to be a show 100% about the "State of Hockey", then just have it on the local flagship station and let the affiliates run something else.
  10. Then why have it on any station but KFAN 100.3 FM out of Minneapolis? Just have it on the local flagship station. I know they desperately want the Gophers to become the region's choice when it comes to which team to support, but that isn't going to happen with regard to hockey.
  11. So Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin were made by their respective QBs? I am not totally disagreeing with you, but you have to have WRs that can gain separation and that force double-teams (Calvin Johnson). The Vikings don't have anyone on the field like that right now and that needs to change. Look at how average Aaron Rodgers looked without Jordy Nelson? You can't make wine out of water.
  12. Montreal beat Los Angeles in 5 games in 1993.
  13. But it's all "part of the game", right?
  14. I was having similar problems last night. Before I went to bed, it seemed to be working again.
  15. What about the other six teams? The NCHC is still the toughest conference in college hockey, the bottom two teams notwithstanding.
  16. Where would KFGO jump to if they screwed us again? The Bison contract has been lost. They have a huge hole in their programing to fill.
  17. I think it is safe to say that if you put the CCM line into North Dakota's program, they would learn how to be effective in all three zones (and on the PP and PK) and would get better playing against a brutal NCHC schedule.
  18. Nobody is saying MSUM is a bad place to get an education. It just isn't at the same level of a UND or NDSU in the world of intercollegiate athletics.
  19. I can't speak to that. I suppose they might carry some of their sports.
  20. Like I have said several times already, we have them right where we want them this time. They lost their precious Bison contract and would probably snatch up our games in a second. But this time, we have the high-ground and the leverage and we could use it to get a better deal than we used to have with KFGO and better than what we have right now with WDAY. I haven't forgotten what happened 7 years ago; in fact, I am making the case for using it as leverage in contract negotiations. Sometimes, you have to put personal feelings aside and promote what is best for UND and its programs (it's called pragmatism). Letting go of the Fighting Sioux name and logo was one example of this. And this is another example.
  21. Cat Country? UND hockey is on 96.1 FM The Fox unless there is broadcasting conflict with basketball or football.
