  1. Very funny. I am not suggesting you guys schedule two FBS money games and three games vs. Top 5 FCS teams. My point is that you don't prove anything by running up the score against teams like Mississippi Valley State. The meat of the MVFC schedule is coming up. That will tell us more about them.
  2. I imagine it wouldn't be cheap to do that. Wonder if there is room in the budget for that.
  3. I was responding to the comment that Bubba does the secondary coaching. If that isn't true, then I will happily retract the "delegating" comment.
  4. And despite what they have accomplished over the past 6 years, it doesn't change the fact that four out of their first five games were against teams that would struggle to beat the top teams in the NSIC. If they want to continue to b!tch and moan about how soft our schedule is, then they should expect the same treatment from us. I don't go on Bisonville and make comments like that, but if they want to come here and do that, then they should expect some backlash. And that is what they will get from me. There is a sense from their fan base that nobody will come within three touchdowns of them from now to Frisco. Obviously, that notion will be tested as they move into the meat of the MVFC schedule. If they can run the table in the regular season, the quality of their first five teams won't matter to me or anyone else. But to say it is wrong to point out the softness of their schedule so far is pure hogwash. It is a legitimate point and legitimate topic of conversation. And if it was UND with NDSU's schedule, I would say the same thing. It is almost like there is some unwritten rule that UND fans are not supposed to talk about certain things with regard to NDSU and that is pure horse@%^&. I'll bring up whatever I want with them. This is a rivalry and that is how rivalries work. I would rather walk barefoot on hot, molten glass than cheerlead for them.
  5. Oh, I don't know, they could decide to forfeit!
  6. I didn't say FCS fans....I said NDSU fans. Not the same thing.
  7. You can bet if UND had this cupcake schedule and was unbeaten, the FU trolls would be on here yapping about it 24/7/365. So it is legitimate to point out. Obviously, we'll find out what happens the rest of the way.
  8. Darell1976 is talking about THIS YEAR, not the last 6 years. The point is that (minus EWU) they have been beating up on glorified high school teams and thus haven't proven anything yet. By the end of the regular season, we'll know what they are or aren't THIS SEASON.
  9. Comment of the day!!!
  10. I think the game is starting to slow down for the young guys who were thrown into the fire a few weeks ago. This experience will be valuable for them in the coming years.
  11. Doesn't sound good for those two knuckleheads that got in trouble on Friday either: With their FB responsibilities removed, they can focus on their legal defense. And I wish them luck (they will need it).
  12. And when that team is garbage, people generally expect more than a tie and an OT win. Granted, this is a young team on one of the toughest road trips they'll ever go on and I think they'll learn from this weekend and get better. But I don't blame people for being a little frustrated that this team wasn't able to sweep a bad team like UAA. I just think we should focus on the long-term potential that they have, which I think is considerable.
  13. The 1999-2000 team looked like absolute garbage around Christmas time. And we all know how that season ended!
  14. I think this team will get better as the season goes on. I do not think we can judge them until around Christmas time.
  15. This is the kind of win that can spark a team and give them confidence. We'll see if this is the start of a winning streak or just a blip on the radar.
  16. This is part of the problem. Bubba needs to delegate more. He's a head coach now.
  17. That Alaska trip is always tough regardless of what kind of team we have. Thank God we don't go up there too often.
  18. What I don't want is our guys getting the "hot goalie" thing in their heads; it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. It also can become a convenient excuse for losing games you shouldn't.
  19. If St. Lawrence has a "hot goalie" next weekend, then I will start making comments like this. But this is a young team that will get better and better with more experience playing together.
  20. It is "Boo Berry" now.
  21. Very possible. I have said before this team will have some ups and downs as they work on figuring out who they are as a team. So if we lose one this weekend, people should stay off the ledge and not panic. We will get better as the season goes on.
  22. Well, if we want to win more than 1 game this year, we may have to change our philosophy on both sides of the ball. You have to plan with the personnel you have, not the personnel you wish you had.
  23. Maybe Bubba is micromanaging too much? The head coach has to delegate things to their assistants and then keep them or replace them according to the results or lack thereof.
