Just wanted to clarify.
-
I wasn't talking about "jumping off the fan wagon". I never will either. But I also will not ignore what I see as a negative trend line regarding this program.
-
There is a clear downward trend over the past two and one-half seasons. That is not "hyperbole", that is fact. Next we'll hear that a lot of programs would love to have a winning record every year like us, so we shouldn't be concerned about not being championship contenders anymore. Where (and when) do you draw the line? The season isn't over, but I don't like what I have seen so far and I will believe there will be improvement when I see it....and not a second before that.

North Dakota at Canisius January 4-5, 2019
fightingsioux4life replied to Dave Berger's topic in Men's Hockey
The point is that those goalies aren't as good as we make them look. Canisius had a save percentage well below .900 before our series. We should have pumped in 3 goals per night minimum. -

Personally, I am more interested in how many goals the Canisius goaltender gives up next weekend. I imagine he'll drop off the Hobey watch list afterwards (sarcasm). -

To be fair, Chaves hasn't been here that long yet. Not enough time to put his stamp on the athletic department. That being said, he better have all the coaches minus VB on notice. UND hasn't been this irrelevant in a long time (especially with the "My Oh My" show 80 miles to our south). -

A guy who has had big-time success with the Fargo Force would never be offered a job here? Just seems half-butt backwards. Of course, that could describe the current state of UND athletics and the direction it is going in right now. -

Why is Eades "unlikely"? A Division I coaching job is a step up from the USHL. The idea that he would turn it down is not very credible. -
You took the words right out of my mouth. We are in a big hole. The sooner we start climbing out of it, the better.
-
So perhaps we should install data dampeners so people can't use their phones inside? All sarcasm aside, I think that is a little far-fetched and not likely.
-
I was exaggerating to make a point. But I fear we will eventually get there at some point.

That same spiel was given at the Old REA as well. It just wasn't enforced to the extreme like it is today. And the student section in the Old REA had plenty of profanity and craziness. In the New REA, anything that does not involve politely clapping for both teams will get you kicked out or worse.
-
Screw what kind of world we have today. That doesn't mean we cannot do it differently at REA. And we should. #lightenuprea

University of North Dakota 2018-19 Season
fightingsioux4life replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
The IIHF U-20 tournament is based on age as well as talent. Some years, our freshmen and sophomores aren't young enough to participate. And remember, these are the best players in the world from each country. Very hard to get on that team. -
My point is that the condition the program was in when Bubba took it over and where NDSU's program was (and is) made it very likely that we would lose both games and probably by multiple possessions. But since we'll be in the same conference soon, I suppose it's a moot point now.
-
.....and don't forget, they could finish with a winning record in the SEC! #bringonbama #weareFBSalready

Hakstol out in Philly
fightingsioux4life replied to BarnWinterSportsEngelstad's topic in Non-collegiate sports
Ha! They are light years from a Stanley Cup. They did Hakstol a favor firing him and getting him out of that dumpster fire. -
He crapped out on us twice. Let's move on.
-
This! Faison should have overruled Bubba and said no to this deal. What good is it to get blown out by FU? It makes us look even worse than we are. It's something that a high school would do.

Careful, Kory Wenzel may be reading this forum and will chew you out for making "baseless claims". (sarcasm)

Based on that standard, the Columbia Road overpass would never have happened. Lots of complaining about that project when it was being discussed from people living in the UND campus area. Could you imagine Grand Forks without the Columbia Road overpass? I cannot.
-
This is probably how the matter will be settled.

Dave Hakstol out with the Flyers

Very true. I am sure with Hakstol gone, their neanderthal fans will choose Hart as the next scapegoat for everything. -

This won't solve any of their problems. They remain one big dumpster fire. -
He's trolling. Don't give him the attention he craves.
