This is where I am at as well.

Um no. And I don't think that guy has the nerve to actually do it.
-
I for one don't miss him. He is a bit of an attitude problem.

If next season is like this season has been, there will be open calls for a change.
-
What was Kacie up for?
-
Is that a big loss for us? Were we on his radar? Was he on ours?
-
That would be great, but shocking.

Some of those March and April storms can have a lot of moisture in them. So that will have to be watched the next 1 to 1 1/2 months.
-
Or throwing darts at a board.
-
Seriously though, all this does is add more moisture to the Red River Basin. All this will melt in the next month or so. That could exacerbate flooding depending on how fast it melts.
-
Highway 200 is where the dry air snow shield is located. The storm in December was a rare exception to the rule.

Meanwhile, Grand Forks continues to live in the dust belt of North Dakota. You get all the fun in "Imperial Cass County".
-
Aren't you a Duluth fan now?
-
Agree 100%. The defense cannot be much worse than it was in 2022.
-
Wasn't there something going on with a player? I vaguely remember hearing about it.

What these organizations are willing to give on NIL is not my decision to make. I know UND cannot be involved in it. That being said, I think local businesses and organizations will be receptive to student-athletes promoting their services and/or products. We have great student-athletes who would make excellent spokespersons for our local boosters. Bottom Line: We either get on board with NIL or get left behind. Period. There is no "middle ground" here.
-
You are correct. I was just throwing out the Engelstad Foundation as one example. Altru, Hugo's, Rydell's....all Grand Forks-based institutions that have the resources to fund an NIL initiative.
-
That's okay. These rules are so complicated and convoluted, the average person cannot hope to understand them. That is why we need to simplify them.

Grand Forks has never had the same things to entice recruits that Denver or Minneapolis has. Yet, we still hung a bunch of banners. As for the almighty B1G, the success of two of their teams can be attributed to the following: -Minnesota is more successful now because they replaced Don Lucia with Bob Motzko. The program was stuck in the mud with Lucia at the end of his tenure there. -Michigan is more successful now because Red Berenson finally retired; he was decomposing behind the bench towards the end and the program suffered for it. NIL is being used as yet another reason why we can't expect national-level success at UND anymore. I am not saying we shouldn't do something pro-active about it, but it is a very convenient excuse to throw out there when we have a disappointing season like this one. The Engelstad Foundation could set up an NIL program for athletes to help promote the various charitable endeavors of the Foundation. The Foundation is not a part of UND, so I think it would pass NCAA muster. What say everyone?

The Little 7 will never cut us in on the main revenue streams, so that isn't happening.

I guess my concern is being left behind in the college hockey universe. It can happen quickly and it is not easy to claw your way back.
-
Fair enough.
-
So if next season is similar to this season, you'll point to the back-to-back-to-back NCHC titles? It doesn't take long for a program to sink into the sewer (Wisconsin). I don't want us to learn that lesson the hard way.

The changing landscape doesn't seem to have negatively impacted Denver at all. The basics of recruiting, coaching and locker room culture will always determine success or lack thereof. And all three are suspect at UND this year.
