I think we can trust the coaches to decide who starts at QB and who doesn't. Say what you want about Bubba's regime, but they are not incompetent like Mussman's was. I think we have two good young QBs in the pipeline who will both get their chances.

Icebreaker @ REA - UND vs. Army, Bucky; BSU vs. Bucky, Army

It is important we win both games because of PWR implications. -

I'd be even more excited if Manitoba had put up more of a fight. They used to have decent teams, what happened? That being said, this team looks way better than last year's ever looked. There will be some rough stretches early as the freshman and transfers get used to each other, but I think the ceiling on this team is very high. I think we thump Army on Friday and beat Wisconsin on Saturday. -
I agree with you on this. If Kaminski has stuck with us for this long, I just don't see him entering the portal because he isn't starting as a freshman.

UND WBB won their first NCAA title there in 1997. An accomplishment we had waited a long time for.
-
That is simply unacceptable. Some things are more important than $$$$$. Making sure the Alerus Center doesn't turn into Fargodome North is one of them.

Next week is a critical inflection point in our season. With a win, we are 4-2 with renewed confidence and a real chance to run the table and get a seed in the playoffs. With a loss, we are 3-3 with shaken confidence and likely another 7-4 first round loss on the road finish. Yep, next Saturday is very big.

The Motor City Kitties look to be for real. A 42-24 beatdown of the Panthers at home. Probably the favorite in the NFC North.
-
That sounds about right.

Big win for upstart St. Thomas. They are going to be a force in this sport in about 5 years. And I hope the 10th team in the NCHC.
-
I think you can add about 3000 to the FB attendance next week. Hotel rooms will be hard to come by next weekend.

HORNS DOWN!!!

Notre Dame has its CFP hopes dashed with a 33-20 road loss to Louisville. I wonder Lou Holtz will insist that the Irish actually won the game like two weeks ago?

TCoS!

We did what we had to do at home against a very bad team. Next week will tell us a great deal where the team stands six games in.
-
Think the UC-Davis playoff game in 2001. Or the GVSU playoff game in 2004.
-
Time to turn the Alerus Center into the House of Pain.
-
Only 6 pages for the Homecoming GDT? I get the last two weeks were ugly, but we can still make some noise this season. And we can start by beating our mortal enemies at home next week. Go Hawks! Buck the Fison!
-
I hear you. When Hyslop is gone, every venue I attended as a student (1993-2000) will be gone. And you are right, the "cost prohibitive" line is used way too often. That being said, I think they have plans for the Hyslop site. Chester Fritz should be remodeled and refurbished.

Someone pointed out that local businesses have bought up tickets to keep the sellout streak alive, so the fan support is not as robust as the streak would suggest.
-
They lost 19 players to the portal! Cripes, what the heck is going on in FU land?
-
They found the $$$$$ to buy out Mussman, although he made a lot less than Bubba does. So the challenge is greater this time. What I really don't want is for Chaves to give Bubba a multi-year contract extension this upcoming off-season after a 7-4 first round playoff exit finish. That would confirm the underlying fears of posters like @UND-FB-FAN, @GoodGood, @Midwestern Hawk: That making UND FB a perennial FCS power is simply not a priority for UND athletics.

This has the potential to be a very good team once March rolls around. Any growing pains we have to live with in October and November will be well worth it.
-
Nobody should have a lifetime contract, no matter how much the grandmas like him.

Homecoming generally draws well no matter how the team is doing or who the opponent is.
