2020-21 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
Siouxperfan7 replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Cancelling all the non conference games thru October is likely the outcome. I would expect they would plan on starting the season with the Nov 6-7 series against St Cloud. Who knows about fans. If you can spread out 10,000 fans in the fargodome, not sure why you wouldn't be able to do 5000 at the Ralph. We will wait and see I guess. -
Well, they are the Pirates. So they didn’t miss it by that much.

It is interesting that a story of something that “supposably” happens over 2 years ago comes out 2 months before the election at the same time Trump tightens the polls to a statistical tie. Also the same week the story of Nancy Pelosi violating local regulations at a salon dominates the headlines. If you don’t see what the media is trying to do you are in denial or ignorant or both.

Looks like the team has switched to the black logo on the helmets. Also looks like they got rid of the number as well. Definitely pops better on the helmet. A much better look!!

Not sure who is more clueless, Joe Biden or the people who are voting for him to be President!!
-
There will be a fair share of negative press (believe it or not) that say this game shouldn’t happen. I am skeptical that it actually will. So sure you may be hearing about NDSU football the next month, the focus will be on COVID testing and positive test results, and whether this game should be played.

College football from September thru May? Hmmm. Maybe this isn't as bad as it seems!!
-
So my "Right to choose" may actually kill someone?
-
When it comes to mask wearing, can I use the "My body, my choice" defense?
-
Looks like the B1G and the Pac12 are calling it. Just a matter of time before every conference cancels fall football. https://www.nbc15.com/2020/08/10/report-big-ten-pac-12-to-cancel-fall-seasons-tuesday/

8 game conference only spring football season with the anticipation of a playoff. https://fightinghawks.com/news/2020/8/7/missouri-valley-announces-spring-football-season.aspx
-
It’s official. Spring ball for the MVFC https://www.valleynewslive.com/2020/08/07/report-missouri-valley-football-conference-to-postpone-football-to-spring/
-
Only way it will happen is if they do it in the spring and the NCAA holds a Championship in the spring as well.
-
DIII championships are cancelled. I predict D2 and FCS to cancel fall championship and the seasons will be cancelled. I could also see FBS moving to the spring as they have their own playoffs and championship and they have way more money to lose by canceling.
-
Fall football no gonna happen. NCAA has said "If 50% or more eligible teams in a particular sport in a division cancel their fall season, there will be no fall NCAA championship in that sport or division." Only a matter of time until we get below 50% in the FCS.
-
Divisions must determine status of fall championships no later than Aug. 21 http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/board-directs-each-division-safeguard-student-athlete-well-being-scholarships-and-eligibility

I think the payout to UND is like 400K less than Buffalo. Pretty easy decision.
-
Midco will still broadcast the games locally with Heinert on the call. ESPN will broadcast that feed on ESPN+. So if you love outside the Midco area, get ESPN+. You will be able to watch all MVFC games.
-
"None are high risk". Yeah, like 99.9% of athletes age 18-22.

Sounding like the MVFC is planning to play football this season!!

2020-21 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

So, not sure why Schloss or anyone else hasn't reported on this yet, but here you go. PROP approves change to ice hockey overtime format https://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-women/article/2020-07-22/prop-approves-change-ice-hockey-overtime-format The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved changes to the overtime format in men’s and women’s ice hockey, starting with the 2020-21 academic year. Under the new rule, all teams tied at the end of regulation will play a five-minute, 3-on-3 sudden-victory overtime period to decide a winner. If neither team scores, a three-person shootout could be used in conference games or in-season tournaments for advancement purposes. -
So what is the deal with the yard lines over the logo? I feel like other schools with white in their logo do something that does result in that mess of changing colors.
