  1. Just remember that UND is the "Flagship University in North Dakota" so that means that its biggest sport trumps any other schools biggest sport every time
  2. Waiting for a Bison troll to bring out the "I'd rather have a National Championship than the nickel anyday" argument in 3.......2........1.......
  3. Oh calm down. I was making a joke. Of course UND, and other Big Sky schools, are going to have respect for Montana's program. (And Montana State for that matter). They are the big dogs in the conference in regards to football. They have the hardware to prove it. Because I respect a program doesn't mean I am jealous. there is a difference. I think the jealousy you are looking for is that of NDSU towards UND getting in the conference that rejected them twice (P.S. that was a joke too, so you don't need to give me a dissertation comparing the Summit/MVC scenerio to the Bog Sky).
  4. Well at least we can be united by other Big Sky Schools in our hatred for Montana
  5. Both programs are solid. No doubt about that. But if you want to compare one thing that is going to differentiate them, you can't take lightly the issue of the top end talent in their respective sport is more likely playing UND hockey. Yes, NDSU has great players. Some which go to the NFL. But the top players in college football don't play at NDSU, UND, Montana, or anywhere in the FCS. The top college football payers play at schools like Alabama, LSU, USC, etc. In college hockey, the top college players many times play at UND. Guys like Parise, Oshie, Toews, etc were the one of the best college players when they attended UND. They were the best hcokey players at their age at the time. And know they are competing at the highest level in the NHL and are the top players in that league now. So while it is tough to compare two different sports, you can't argue that the level of talent that goes through the UND hockey program is better than the level of talent that goes through the NDSU football program in regards to the atheletes in the sport at that level.
  6. We will we will FRACK YOU!!!
  7. Dave, we ALL agree with you. It was wrong to take away the name. This issue should have never been brought up by the NCAA. We all wanted to keep the name. We all hold the pipe ceremony as being a sacred ceremony granting UND the use of the name. It should have been sufficient for the NCAA. Unfortunately the NCAA disagrees with that. They are the people that you need to be mad at. Not UND officials. Remember it was UND officials as well as state legislators who went to meet with the NCAA last August. They told them that the ceremony and the law ment nothing to them. Kelly/Faison/O'Keefe realized that there was no way to convince the NCAA to change their minds. Especially with the signed settlement agreement.
  8. Green ones are by far the best. Always have been.
  9. I think Cavalry is the one mentioned here that I like the best so far. It is unique and it related to our state's history.
  10. And we have beaten UNI in the UNI-Dome...but you guys wouldn't know how to do that now would you!!
  11. Well first things first. First we will be ranked higher than you, then we will win a FCS title. I realize that you Bison fans don't think we can do either. Patience my dear boy!!
  12. So there is a "Notre Dame, IN" ? Always thought it was in South Bend?? Interenting. My bad!
  13. Can't wait till UND is ranked higher than NDSU in the polls next year!! Oh man....that is going to be a great day!!
  14. Kind of like when Bison fans were bragging about their loss to the Gophers in 2006!!
  15. SO just a side note, all of our road games have the city where they are playing the game: Minneapolis MN, Houghton MI, etc. Who was the smart guy who put the Notre Dame games to be played in Notre Dame IN??? Wow!!
  16. If you told me that I know nothing about say...electrical engineering, I would not be insulted. That is a fact. I am not insulted by it. The people 82SiouxGuy listed have shown time and time again that they do not understand how college athletics work...or common law for that matter. By making statements like "The NCAA is going to change their mind and let UND keep the nickname" is proof of that. you say that he insulted some honarable people. Well you have continually verbally insulted Kelley, Faison, O'Keefe, and others repeatedly on this site. I guess that doesn't count though right??!!
  17. 2012-2013Schedule details released: http://www.fightingsioux.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=205497328&DB_OEM_ID=13500
  18. Don't forget about our boys on the hardcourt!!!
  19. Well I guess NDSU is happy with the situation: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/239313/group/Sports/
  20. Wait....we weren't supposed to do that??
  21. It all worked out for NDSU, so I think that now that it is 5 monhts after the end of the season and about 8 months since it happened, we all need to jsut let it go!!!
  22. No way it even gets on the November ballot as a Constitutional amendment. Even if the measure would have been defeated by a small margin like 55-45, people are more hesitant to make a change to the constitution. But since it went down 67-33, what do supporters of putting it on the ballot for constitutional amendment think is going to happen? Are 18% or approximitely 30,000 people are just going to change their minds? Plus there are more people voting in the November elections. Is the percentage going to be drastically different? I think that the Constitutional amendment is dead if you ask me. If somehow it gets on the ballot, it will be defeated by at least the same margin.
