I heard that Roebuck wanted the game to be in Grand Forks first. NDSU was not in favor of that. So now that Gene is gone, they can schedule the game without and backlash from the coach. Glad this game is being played finally. I wonder if they will schedule a double header with the mens game!! Play this game at the BSA and have the Fargo Acro Team perform between the games!! Now that would bring it back to how it used to be!!!

Minnesota...at The Barn!!! Get that game scheduled!!!
-
Maybe we solved our naming debate....University of North Dakota Alerus Financials!! Wouldn't need to change the turf or anything!!
-
I thought this was a UND sports forum. Why do people keep bringing up NDSU??!!
-
As per the email I sent to him regarding this issue, here was his response: As a part of the naming agreement for the facility, Alerus Financial retains the mid-field area for their logo. Realistic Expectations for UND in the Big Sky
Siouxperfan7 replied to ALPHAGRIZ1's topic in Football
I will agree with you that the Griz are going to be tough. I think that they will win the Big Sky this year. I really don't think all this off the field stuff is going to affect the play on the field. But I guess time will tell. The game agaist the Bobcats is probably going to be for the conference. (As usual). Griz are going to be tough. I hope we bring our best game agaist you guys this year. Could be a very entertaining game. Hope you are ready for some "3rd and Loud"!!! -
My guess is since its the same company installing turf at both the Fargodome and NDSU, once they are done in Fargo, they should be coming up to Grand Forks right? I would expect the turf at the AL to be in at the latst next week. Sidenote: looking at the Bison logo in the middle of the filed makes me wonder how nice the interlocking ND would look at the Alerus. Oh well. The new turf is going to be sweet!
-
Tsunami.....no. The logo would have to be green. Too much like Green Wave. EGFHS has that. We need to stay away from HS nicknames in the area...especially within 5 miled of campus!!!

Maybe the Herald/Forum can do an article about which school has a better TV deal, UND or NDSU?!!
-
So will this mean that the TV broadcasts will finally have the power play clock???
-
So no more Pat Sweeney??? You better not be foolin??!!
-
So who is going to broadcast the games? Is there still going to be a UND Sports Network? Maybe I missed something.
-
Agreed!! Lets talk about sports again!!!

Realistic Expectations for UND in the Big Sky
Siouxperfan7 replied to ALPHAGRIZ1's topic in Football
OK, I will bring it back to football. Is the Fargodome really that much better than the Alerus? Seriously. OK, I know that it obviously holds more people. But looking at the overall facility.....wouldn't they really be comparably the same? -
Get Bennett Brien to create a "Norse" logo that looks very similar to the Sioux logo....You are either on to something or on something!!! Not sure what I think??!!

Much like NDSU's "jealously" of UND's sports facilities (current and future) is only their mind -
FORUM: What's a bigger deal: NDSU football or UND hockey?
Siouxperfan7 replied to bincitysioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Yes. I would much rather have a National Championship than win a rivalry game ANYDAY!! Just predicting the canned Bison fan response!! -

But NDSU still has 6 games a year on KVLY!! -

Siouxperfan7 replied to bincitysioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Just remember that UND is the "Flagship University in North Dakota" so that means that its biggest sport trumps any other schools biggest sport every time -

Realistic Expectations for UND in the Big Sky
Siouxperfan7 replied to ALPHAGRIZ1's topic in Football
Oh calm down. I was making a joke. Of course UND, and other Big Sky schools, are going to have respect for Montana's program. (And Montana State for that matter). They are the big dogs in the conference in regards to football. They have the hardware to prove it. Because I respect a program doesn't mean I am jealous. there is a difference. I think the jealousy you are looking for is that of NDSU towards UND getting in the conference that rejected them twice (P.S. that was a joke too, so you don't need to give me a dissertation comparing the Summit/MVC scenerio to the Bog Sky). -

Well at least we can be united by other Big Sky Schools in our hatred for Montana -

Both programs are solid. No doubt about that. But if you want to compare one thing that is going to differentiate them, you can't take lightly the issue of the top end talent in their respective sport is more likely playing UND hockey. Yes, NDSU has great players. Some which go to the NFL. But the top players in college football don't play at NDSU, UND, Montana, or anywhere in the FCS. The top college football payers play at schools like Alabama, LSU, USC, etc. In college hockey, the top college players many times play at UND. Guys like Parise, Oshie, Toews, etc were the one of the best college players when they attended UND. They were the best hcokey players at their age at the time. And know they are competing at the highest level in the NHL and are the top players in that league now. So while it is tough to compare two different sports, you can't argue that the level of talent that goes through the UND hockey program is better than the level of talent that goes through the NDSU football program in regards to the atheletes in the sport at that level.
